Both phones - XA and L2/terrible names Sony/ are so thick and in the same time FPS is mounted on the back?!? WTF? Most inconvinient place.
L2 is looking like old polycarbonate Nokia Lumia series.
I can't understand what laying behind that thickness....only compact series of Sony was so thick, because of the small form factor.
If they move FPS on the back on next Premuim, will not buy it.

Lol if this turns out to be true, i'd love to see the faces of the sony fanboys who kept bragging that their beloved xperias had the best fingerprint scanner position. Huge lol.

Very unique design, very Sony indeed. From a bunch of Android phones with similar almost indistinguishable designs and profiles influenced by Samsung and Apple, Sony is clearly making a statement here. It wants to stand out from generic looking designs and phone profiles. I'd say, Sony dares its phone buyers to 'dare to be different'. Unfortunately, with most users also carrying a powerbank, many might mistake their new Sony as their powerbank.

Watch tutorials on Xperia phone disassembly. How is trying to pry of the display because of strong adhesive considered easy? How is having to dig through the entire phone to remove a battery slapped on to the giant Logic board (which clearly can be made smaller, seeing that Samsung, Huawei and Apple can do it) considered easy?

Sony Fanboys really need a reality check, you're clearly worse than the Apple herd when it comes to blind loyalty to your Brand. Stop worshiping your brand as though it is perfect when it clearly makes poorly designed components. Having to dig through the entire phone (particularly on the compact ones) just to replace the battery is clearly a stupid design choice.

what's the 2nd port on the right hand side of the bottom of the phone? 2nd usb port? micro sd card slot?

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2018Stop crying about battery efficiency get a power bank instead a Sony phone with a small capacity battery doesen't even need a battery bank lol

And they are thick? Which one exactly? Only the XZ1 compact is. But the thing has a massive battery in it.

Sony needs to take a page from Samsung, Apple and Huawei on how to design internal components around their battery instead of slapping it on the back of their PCB and burying it on the back of their phone making it difficult to replace the battery. No wonder Xperia phones are thick AF.

The battery and the display should be the first things that can be removed on the phone. Xperia phones are notorious for having difficult to remove batteries.
