Snapdragon 670 performance will split the difference between the 660 and the 845

05 January 2018
This mid-range chip is rumored to use the same Kryo cores as the flagship Snapdragon.

3000 mah battery ( no that much bigger than 2700 )
I easily do 7 to 8 hours of SOT lol.

So nope its has nothing to do with android ( iphone plus model have 2700 mah battery or something and have much less SOT than my phone )

          Geekbench 4.0 single/multi:
          SD845: 2422/8351
          SD835: 1919/6095
          Ex8895: 1996/6441
          SD821: 1604/4162
          SD820: 1692/3239
          SD670: 1863/5256
          SD660: 1608/5848
          SD652: 1425/2815
          SD630: 961/5615
          SD626: 911/4594
          SD625: 843/2754

So SD670 is better than SD660 in single, worse in multi.
So SD670 is better than SD820/ SD821 in single and in multi.

Sure, it is a worse bin, but it is much more effient at those clocks. I am really happy that it's out - it's a great mid-ranger, if you can even call it that.

If it's a lower clocked 845, can we root and overclock to achieve close to 845 levels?

But 2019 is most likely to see these in phones.
What I am Afraid is that if 845 phones Are 700-1000$ this year. The 670 Are 500-800$ so not like candidated to phones in anyway...
630 seems to be 200-300$ phones so that leaves 640 400-600$ phones. So it will be more popular because of that. I Expect to see 630 upgrade with 8 A55 to become next middle range phone cpu. 637? Who knows...

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2018I agree.. But the display size and resolution has got more ... moreWell your view regarding OS is rather wrong. If you have a process running in background in RAM it needs less time & power with it to be called in. Other than that for at least 5-6 generations (which is 3 years) have true Big.Litle configurations running Android OS & with that HMP scheduler which can be very nicely tuned towards power consumption. The first & only Apple true Big.Litle SoC so far (& by far the best one from engineering standpoint of view) is A11. On the other hand Android SoC's are going to DinamIQ which brings faster task migrations, power savings & better user experience. If we disregard display size/DPI from power consumption list as the biggest consumer general problem is that all vendors push the frequencies beyond the sustainable or saint limits of leaking including & Apple of course (last 3 generations).

                            Oh my.
These developers are out of mind.
Why to research Snap 670 when a Snap 660 was barely used?
They should rather work on energy efficiency to reduce power consumption to bare minimum.
This is waste of time and money.
Forests and animals dying but there is no CURE for human STUPIDITY.

There are very few snapdragon 660 devices and some are in the Chinese market. Here's one.
360 N6 Pro. Yup. Weird names for phones by Chinese manufacturers.

It has the 660 along with card slot(something I really needed in a phone because I have a Samsung Pro Plus 128GB micro SD card and I'm not ready to give it away.

I want some devs to buy this phone and port good roms into the N6 Pro. Pure AOSP like rom based on 7.1.1 or 8.0 would be awesome.

Dilmeet, 05 Jan 2018You are spot on sir! We hardly saw SD660 based devices, we ... moreWell you want balance? How about old Mi Max (first generation)? You get both good performance along with rather good battery life especially on S650 version & it had a good price also. RN3 Pro whose a huge kick ass regarding both budget performance and battery life for a rather small price. The 1017 moto whose a better battery life for a larger price in every segment. But how much better battery life really whose? Well let's compare Mi Max & Mi Max 2 as they have same display. Mi Max 2 lasts 20~25% longer but with 10% larger battery so in the end it's 10~15% more endurance. Is it worth the performance cost? No. Is it worth premium price? No. In the end competition is coming from both Samsung and MTK jumping in with mid range SoC's that do contain ARM Big OoO core's so QC can only lose market share by not making future S670 SoC widely available all do it will be more pricy over competitors as it contains newer cores (A75, A55) and is built on newer FinFET lithography (presumably Samsung 10nm+ over competitors Samsung 14nm & TSMC 12nm). Naturally battery life in 2018 phones will get even worse as the trend of 18:9 displays which are bigger but not really more useful becomes global. Also all RF components (cellular radio & modem, WiFi, BT, GPS...) are continued to be made on planar mostly 28nm process and as always running ones their power consumption isn't neglect able at all. I wonder how more longer we will have to wait for their migration to FD-SOI as Sony showed us that 50% power consumption cut is easy one to accomplish with their GPS module built on Samsung 28nm FD-SOI...

We are set to see device with sd660 and there are news about sd670, we will probably see sd670 next year as we are stuck with sd625

I welcome SD670 because it is basically an SD8xx chip at midrange prices... as it should. Probably the only qualcomm chip to get...
