The only way to fool it is to have a mold of one's *face* (i.e. impossible). By comparison all you need for fingerptint is to take the user's fingerprint (From a cup or similar). Face ID is far more secure than fingerprint sensor, it would be disastrous for Apple to include it and a giant step back, you don't see many companies move back in time.

Androids only use Fingerprint still because they're 1-2 years behind technologically speaking ... for some reason roles reversed the last few years. From industry leading androids (especially Samsung) became industry trailing ... sad!

If it was(fingerprint sensor under display)done by half eaten thing the fanboys start yelling EUREKA EUREKA

And as I said Apple rarely these days innovates and just gets stuff from android, but just they do it nicely. I am not a fan of any particular OS and just use what works for me.

But one thing is for sure, there is very less scope for appreciating Apple iPhone on public forums especially here on GSMArena without getting Android fans angry. They just come at you.

Mostly these days most companies to compete with e... moreno competition = no improvements , if I am not wrong, apple just added file manager on iOS 11 the only reason I think they did that is because you have lots of apps like that on Android, same with beseless on Iphone X, double camera, lot of android stuff apple use to compete, "android" does that too, the big difference is that you can change from one android manufacturer to another but always on android features or even modify it, on apple you get what they, want totally dependent.

That is why I had to write that I am not an Apple fanboy. I use both iOS and Android phones with different use cases. I love both the OS for what they provide.
But its just SAD that people like you are so blind to read my complete comments and just saw a word "Apple" and just got a chance to let your frustration out. If you are happy with your phone whatever you use good for you. I just wrote my opinion if you are not happy you should learn to ignore it or if you want to just write something at least write something CONSTRUCTIVE which might help other readers and provide me with some useful comments or justify what I am saying is wrong or just state your opinion.

SidStar, 10 Jan 2018Wow - the "In Display Finger Print Scanner" !!! Another ... moreI agree. Mostly these days most companies to compete with each other are just pushing out half baked half tested features to lure the customers.
This is why I like the Apple way, they don't have competition within iOS devices and they just wait for anything latest in tech, see if really customers want it, implement it in their device and then mostly do it in the best way possible. And whatever they do they bank on it for the long term and if they remove it later (TouchID) it is to move the tech world ahead and not just to lure customers with gimmicks.
I am not saying Apple is best or iOS is best it's just that I personally like the way they implement tech in their devices.

Wow - the "In Display Finger Print Scanner" !!!

Another new thing which manufacturers are marketing to the buying public, trying to turn it into the new fad (along with bezel less phones) for 2018.

Take a pause here - do you really need this feature ? How is it better / worse than the solutions already present in the market ?

I, for one, am totally comfortable with the rear placed fingerprint scanner, where my index finger unlocks my phone when I pick it up, in the normal course of things.

Sure there are times when you might want to unlock your phone without picking it up. There will also be occasions when you may not want to use an additional finger to unlock your phone while it is in your hand and has locked itself.

So what additional benefit does this feature have for users ?

I can in fact think of a very disturbing scenario - what happens if you accidentally drop your phone and crack / damage your screen ? Your screen is still working but the touch function is slightly damaged for the lower part of the screen where - OMG - your in screen fingerprint scanner is located, effectively locking you out.

Now, it actuallg out and I had seen review of an actual working device I can comment freely. It is one of the best innovation of the year and the year just started. Lol. This in-display sensor is just a bit slow but nothing that other manufacturer cant improve quickly in a few months. Btw, if anyone wondering why and how Vivo become first to do this, that is because they signed a $4 billion MoU with Qualcomm quite some time ago to innovate of various technologies.

It didn't. it had a fingerprint sensor that VIEW WISE was under the display. but NOT INSIDE the display. and it was annoying... you had to SWIPE your finger on the sensor in order to unlock it.
so bottom line: no. It didn't have underscreen FPS
