Apple is the most viable option for smartphone security and that's true...

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2018Why they put the scanner at the bottom??. It's going to be ... moreI agree with you. Or a couple of inches from the bottom of the screen. 1 inch or 1.5 inches will do too.

I think that the under screen fingerprint scanner is a great solution basically because you don't have to do something new while still being a new technology, if I had to choose between the fps being located at the back side or under the screen
I would definitely choose under the screen. I am definitely not specially fond of face unlock ...

Suxron, 12 Jan 2018GREAT !! I am s8+ user will switch to vivo if it have high ... moreI switched from S8 to vivo recently. My reasons are many. My vivo has a better battery life than my S8, comparable cameras in normal light, superior camera in low light. Better optimized os while my s8 was stuttering and slowing down weeks into my purchase, these problems have yet to surface on the vivo. Dual SIM cards. Able to delete all bloatware on vivo whereas S8 cannot be done. Vivo has a faster and more reliable fingerprint sensor whereas S8 is placed in awkward position causing you to compromise your camera lens. Able to use gesture commands from black screen on vivo. Samsung offers none. Able to create own customized ringtones for calls messaging etc. Samsung does not offer that unless you use 3rd party app. Vivo can track Network speeds on the front screen crucial when your on the road whereas Samsung S8 does not offer that without 3rd party app. Vivo has built in 4x DAC for great HIFI sounds. Samsung does not offer HIFI. Vivo offers faster charging than S8. I can go on and on

AnonD-441601, 12 Jan 2018Yes sure we can. Flat screens are not that expensive for ... moreI got used to book case pretty quick. I even hold some cash in it, for emergency case, like if for some reason I don't have my wallet. also edges of book case will buffer impact of any potential drop really well. Just at cost of some inconvenience and looks. Samsung phones are expensive to change because they are cheap. Just, I don't understand about Apple, what is their excuse? All phone manufacturers just try to make money at the end of the day.
                    And ALL phones crack.
Now, imagine fingerprint sensor under the scren. Repairing costs will probably rise. Mostly because people will then have a reason more to get their screens replaced. Depending on how it's executed, or what's the damage, some might need to buy both - new screen and new display.
And now. imagine company like Apple charging for it.
Apple does make good phones, but they are really expensive to repair, and now there is battery issue. They sabotage themself.
BTW - I will personally never pay insurance for a phone. And I think you will also agree it's kinda ridiculous.

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2018Still behind other companies in sales..That is bogus. Worldwide sales of vivo phones are higher than LG, HTC, Sony, Nokia, Lenovo ... You get the picture.

S8 User, 12 Jan 2018I simply have to agree. I didn't drop my S8 even once, but... moreYes sure we can.
Flat screens are not that expensive for repair but samsung is always special.
I know a curved screen is something new but paying 400 eur for repair Note 8 is just too much.
When S5 was a brand new fixing screen was like 150-200 eur. Do to flat screen.
S8+ or Note 8 is just a different league.
And thats even not close to a back glasspanel on Iphone X which broken means 550 eur at service centre. Thats too much.
I know insurance is a solution but in this case its like paying 10 eur each month extra.
Whats worse from my customers i can honestly said most of them who buy a phone with a price tag of 600 eur plus for example Samsung S8 series Note 8 Apple 8 and X or XZ premium. When a screen breaks they rather buy new cheaper model than pay for a replacement.
And plenty of people are lazy to buy any cover at al even a screen protector is just too much for them. And if you put your phone into a pocket your screen protector tears down in few attempts. So book case its a solution despite you always have to open close.

AnonD-441601, 12 Jan 2018Yes many of my customers ca,e here with a broken phone for ... moreI simply have to agree.
I didn't drop my S8 even once, but I still have flip case on it. You can just never be too sure. Flip case does great job protecting phone in case of fall, also I can't get a good screen protector (S8 problems...) but I'm still worried.
And with fingerprint scanner under the screen I can see how it could go wrong.
And then, shall we talk about increasing of repair costs for broken screens?

I am not that case. My hands are clumsy i mean on the whole world nobody makes an item which i was unable to breaks :-)
So i always have a quality leather book case and a glass protector with hardenes 9H or better.

Why they put the scanner at the bottom??. It's going to be behind the screen anyway why not put it smack in the middle of the screen.. It is more convenient that way and you dont have to stretch your thumb downward or change your grip
