It’s still not fully executed, and doesn’t work 100% right.
What if screen schratches or cracks?
I already see company like Apple charging 1000 dollars just for screen replacement because of this.

Is the fingerprint area brighter than the surrounding area like the rumours said a few months ago?

This is really possible and yes it must be a regular part for 2018 smartphone and will be refined by mid 2018 or early 2019.

Now it's time for them to make the first underscreen camera.

Maybe they can implement the same wizardy to make a portion of the screen with camera underneath off and transparent enough when taking a picture or videos and activate it again like a normal screen when not in use.

                viva to you Vivo!

Would rather prefer an ultrasonic implementation, it was capable of a 3d print due to the nature of technology, and not just a mostly flat fingerprint. Still, it's about time someone made this work.

that's a great milestone indeed. but they have to find a solution for the burn-in issues of oleds, which happens even without a fingerprint scanner lightening all the time.

A hands on video would be great. If it's an always on fingerprint sensor which won't require the user to wake up the device (work without waking up the screen since it's an OLED panel) then it's cool. It requires a few fine tunings to achieve faster unlock speeds, hopefully Vivo being the first to implement this technology will provide the groundwork for fine tunings to the big players. Finally Vivo has some achievement it can brag about. Hehe..
