Ashura, 21 Jul 2011That could be true yes they could have some money set aside... moreYes, I agree, but there still is a chance.

Also someone can just buy NOKIA. For example a big company with huge budget which has a lot of fresh ideas. Company with huge budget can buy NOKIA with all NOKIA's patents and realise their ideas through it.

"Hardware means nothing if it does not have a good OS to take full advantage of it."

And that's why in the first sentence I have mentioned "Talking only about hardware performance..."

"Besides if Nokia´s sales are going down the drain(hence so is theyr money) how can they afford the tegra 2 socs and the licensing fees? Those aren´t cheap"

I don't know, but theoretically there is many solutions. For example, maybe NOKIA still have some money in stock or maybe NOKIA can by financially supported by any other company. Also NOKIA can narrow assortment of products and concentrate to the smartphones. And so on...

[deleted post]The one found on Maemo desn't look like the one found on the Galaxy S. Nokia rip off the design of the notification System on Symbian Belle from Galaxy S.

Just take a look at it. It's more like the SGS than Maemo.

nokia 4 life, 21 Jul 2011dear friend :-) just wait and see nokia will be on the top ... moreSpeaking of maps, the Nokia maps will be shared by the other WP OEMs. That means that it won't be exclusive to Nokia WPs. The upcoming Galaxy WP, the WP version of the SGS2, will have Nokia Maps.

It seems to me that Nokia is lost in the woods. The upcoming Symbian Belle also sports a revamped notification system that looks like a rip-off of the Galaxy S's. It's a shame that Nokia resorted to copying and it seems like they ran out of ideas.

Ashura, 21 Jul 2011Nokia did not chose Android because they wanted to be difer... moreThat is correct. Nokia wants to be what it once was, a dominant player in the mobile phone market. They are going to try to become that company again instead of following the likes of Samsung, HTC and others. I think they feel they have to try for that instead of settling on being just a handset manufacturer. Maybe they can do that in developing markets, but I don't see them making much inroads in markets already dominated by iOS, Android and RIM.

My suggestions to NOKIA management is to follow the trend of the OS. They should start making an ANDROID devices on their smartphone from mid to high end (600hz to 1Ghz processor, 720pHD,5 megapixel and up, Carl Zeiss, "autofocus" and not "fixed-focus" and good battery life) if they want to bounce back into the no.1 contention. You should put all these features in one smartphone and that's it, people will comeback to you especially Nokia fans. Just think what Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and Motorola are doing to their phones?

nokia will never be what it was. at the time when they were kings were very few models with very simple hardware. nobody talked about so many spesc combined once: lcd diagonal, resolution, oled, super amoled, so complex o.s., c.p.u.,fullhd video, and so many things that nokia is now very far away from them. all know now that nokia is weak and this thing will take years to change. wp7 is already put at the wall, meego is not certain. nokia is falling. i don't regret because they were very proud in the last tears. it was a must, a rule that any kitsch from nokia must cost a fortune. time has changed and this permanent challange between brands is in our advantage. don't be sad nokia fans. i was like you, but after n8 dissapoiment i buyed an iphone4 for blowing music, browser and showing-off

I'm one of those E90 diehards, and i'm suffering because of it. It's so outdated, and I really want an upgrade after seeing all the new awesome qwerty business phones. Too bad for Nokia, i'll be shifting to something, anything at this point really!

It was a tough decision to make, considering with the 9300 comm, and this type of phone format is hard to beat, but still, they dropped the ball big time. I've even held off my entire family from buying nokia too.
