Disappointing Q2 for Nokia, set to launch first WP7 phone this year

The problem is that Nokia said that they will not support and improve Symbian come 2012. So naturally, customers wouldn't want to buy phones that will not be supported in 5 months time. Even though they have Symbian Belle, come 2012, it will be useless. They should make MeeGo as one of their platform alongside WP7 since it got such a hit. Don't be too dependent to WP7, it's not selling well. Even Microsoft admitted it.

I bought a C7 from the first batch released by Nokia and I never had the purple screen problem. Only the batch of phones released this year had the problem and that was a vendor problem (and probably a blind acceptance of QC of the vendor and not doing their own QC rigorously). You should know better than merely generalising your info.

Like many are saying here - Nokia + Android would be an immediate hit... God knows why they chose WM7 - and from early reports of their WM7 handsets coming out... things are going from bad to worse (which is a real shame, my fave phone probably of all time was my N93i..)
But time moves on and Nokia didn't...
:(
I think we're about to see the downfall of a company we've all grown up with... such a shame...
Their new X7 (is it?) is getting slammed by reviewers... "premium look, shoddy specs"
And with Sammy's Galaxy Windows phone on the horizon... what on earth can Nokia do now???

Try making good phones and think about money next. All the recently released phones are disasters and they really dont want to admit this truth. Still dont want to adapt android. Iam writting this comment as iam the victim of nokias few last models.............

Talking about OLED, OLED technology is relatively young and displays based on OLED technology have some really essential disadvantages. My advice would be to improve OLED technology before releasing more OLED technology based screens into the wide world. OLED display is really amazing thing, but short lifespan and "Burn-In" effect is essential disadvantages of it!

nokia was wrong in 2007 when apple launched iphone. they don't care, they don't even take a look at iphone3, they was so proud and sure with their expansive useless vertu, scirocco,arte, and their name and pedigree. they don't think a second that unusual mobile called iphone will can make such a global madness. they were so sure and proud and wrong... in that point nokia begun to sink slowly. they don't care for years about touch screens os, and when they woke up, it was too late. android and apple are so far. meego will can meake wonders if they offer a good support and superb photo-video performance in the future. but wp7 is already dead. nokia,you read yhis? your stupid proud maked you to not choose android and you will die

The camera for the n8 is good but the other features are crap. also you can't change the battery.

symbian is not bad,but d speed power of d phone doesn't enough 2 make symbian work flawlessly.
Symbian is a king os but in d past,i hope with d BELLE n 1 ghz/512 mb ram symbian will rise again even if not 2 high.
Belle is a bit 2 late, elop is a bit wrong, im just a bit blow.
Meego is a bit great,all my words just a bulls***. Hate nokia wp7.

Theys signed a contract.
Microsoft is also desperate to gain market share with their WP7(or what ever), there is a lot of money in to make on Smartphone OSes, whereas the Computer OS have stagnated.
So even if Nokia looses 2/3 of it's last year market share, Microsoft will gain market shares by Piggyback riding Nokia.
Also Symbian OS, is not what I want, in my next phone. Meego (and the other one) having already a bad reputation, just because it comes from Nokia.

Sorry, but you are TOTALLY WRONG!
OLED = Organic light-emitting diode.
LCD = Liquid crystal display.
LCD and AMOLED is two totally different technologies and it is technical names, not marketing names! Also AMOLED doesnt use any backlight.
Get some knowledge before arguing!

MEEGO IS STILL UNKNOWN,and for this reason have a chance to make a future challange. personal i've tested n9 and it is delicious, but i hate wp7 mobiles. windows mobile os like symbian os don't like to avarage mobile users from now. they know how it work a mobile with symbian os or wp7 os, they don' need to buy nokia, when lg and samsung already shown how bad is wp7. meego is their only chance to challange and compete android wich is making better and better
