Anonymous, 11 Jan 2018Lmao finally the diehard Nokia fans will shut up that the N... moreTotally agree, even the oneplus 5 scored 87 and some say the oneplus 5T might have scored between 88-89 due to that secondary lense for low light. Still not as high as the pixels, samsung, Lg devices but hey it's a 500 dollar device,
The Nokia 8 is more expensive and the camera is poor.

Killing the brand's name. Results are poor not because of DxO, just take to test 808 against Any new flagship and see the shots. Its not just their software thats bad, hw is cheap. Would take old XA instead. Not to mention new flagships coming, list of interesting specs and old brand's name won't save you there.

I owned them both back then. Decided to sell 1020 and keep 808. Now my daily driver is 950XL and i am happy with both of them.

And this probably comes from a Samesung or iphlone user... Boy, nothing beats Lumia cameras, yet, i have not seen your comment complaining about how your device has a crapp camera and is a cheap Chinese crapp. You just like to troll, to feel important. I have a Circus address if you are interested. They are hiring Clowns.

He is actually back at Nokia (he was in Microsoft for a while), and working in their VR department, nothing to do with phones. Damian Dinning (the guy behind almost every Nokia cameraphone until/including the 808 PureView) is at Jaguar now, and Ari Partinen now works for Apple. My older phone is a Nokia N8 so I know stuff like that. ;-)

Yeah, I told you guys that hdm limited their camera from its true potential. Nokia, remove the limitations and release the phone as it was built to be.

Right. Let's just get one thing absolutely, categorically clear. The Nokia 8 has an excellent camera. I went form the N8 to a Pixel 2 and can hand on heart say that I felt the Nokia took more colour accurate images and at no point have I felt that the Pixel gives me a significant upgrade. Absolutely no softness to images at all. Beautiful contrast. Yes, the auto-focus is slow but 95% of the time you will get excellent pictures with this phone. I have no idea how it scored so poorly. Just check out the GSMArena review of the N8 camera! They loved it!
And for the haters; try using the phone before slagging it off. Nokia does not deserve this bad press.

Basically pieced together the cheapest components, shoved in a snapdragon 835 to give it some good PR and called it premium haha!

I've got the Nokia 8 and am a die-hard fan of Nokia.
While the smartphone is almost perfect (except the lack of led notif), the camera is garbage. Non sense.
Funny things ? Lense and optics are really good, just put the Google Camera by BSG or Arnova and it become the best shooter ever. Like really. it blows out the water my S7 and G6.
