Other phones that will too have been certified.
What I say is that not early to be S9.

There is also de code. They use a pattern , by the code you know if phone is high end or low end.

    A8 code is A530F

Of ... moreI'm not sure if your comment was supposed to be addressed to me, but I never mentioned the 8895, I said the S7, which was powered by the 8890 and SD 820, with the 8890 being much more efficient. If it was aimed at me, then it didn't make any sense.

As for the 8895 and SD 835 being the same, they are not. The 8895 uses custom M2 cores and 4 x A53. Just because the A53 was used, doesn't mean they will be equal in efficiency if used on another SoC at the same clock speed, it isn't that simple. The specs for the SD 835 are 8 x Kryo 280, which are marginally custom.

The SD 835 was not a better performer than the Exynos 8895.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2018Not early. Some MWC phones have been certified alreadyYou didn't pay attention. I said the date on the certificate is December 20th, which is too early for the S9. It's highly likely that this relates to the A8 and A8+. Try to use your brain and work things out, rather than just blindly accepting what is said in this article.

Exynos have same cores of SD chips.
            But lower clock.
Of course it will use less energy.

            Exynos 8895 = 2.35GHz + 1.7GHz
            SD 835 = 2.45GHz + 1.9 GHz

All SD835 phones ( except Samsung) are faster than Exynos version.

Just be aware that the certificate is dated for the 20th of December, so probably relates to the Galaxy A8 and A8+ which would have gone through the process at that time. It's too early for the S9.

Or, see the improvements in battery life made by the A11 chip from Apple. Even the Exynos version of the Galaxy S7 was considerably more efficient than the SD 820, which translated into a good difference in battery life.

The Qualcomm chip 'promises' 30% more performance at same efficiency.. It means more battery drain proportionally to the performance increase.

The Exynos doubles the single core performance at increased efficiency, but still more energy drain.

Every year Apple and Sammy state more efficient and less power hungry phones, but these numbers don't translate to everyday usage.
