BiyoBiyo JunJun, 23 Jan 2018i thought they never bother about slow mo video ...Sigh kids.. Samsung started doing slowmo video since Omnia HD..

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2018Resolution is higher. Sigh...Resolution is not higher.
In 2014 mediatek obviously could do this 460 fps at 1080p with a Sony sensor....
      Why not implemented?
Maybe the SoC was not powerfull enough for daily usage and would heat up too much. But since it was demoed on an existing SoC then, lack of Ram on 2014 phones is more probable.
Now SoCs are more powerfull to pull it out yes.

But, I ask again, what is techwise new here?
Tech was there to do this 4 years ago.

XBR, 22 Jan 2018Sony's slow mo is useless. It only lets you record like 1 s... moreHigher slow motion suppose to record stuff that move at much higher speed so 1s i think is fine but maybe slightly longer is better. I dread to think someone using 960fps to record someone walking for 3s

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2018Resolution is higher. Sigh...That was 1080p but none of the phone has that probably cos it overheat so much that it's unusable. Anyone can brag about being able to do something but if it can't be used then it's useless lol

nice, to see that samsung is emulating sony, 480fps on 1080p is rather nice, but it's only twice the regular slow motion which most phones can do since 2014

however, 960fps is 4 times the slow motion is just awesome, you can see things not possible in regular slow motion

I hesitate when samsung reduces pixel size. The a8 2015 uses 1micron, isocell that's said to match 1.12micron quality. Turns out, colors are dull, details lost, even in room lighting condition. Having a8 for 6months feels like a nightmare. I prefer camera hump like s6 rather than terrible camera.

                                        720p @960fps is great

I don't bought the S8 just cause I was waiting for that feature last year

now the big problem gonna be the tag price here in Brazil, which is ridiculous. Leaded by Apple BTW
