You'll still need to pay a $69 deductible under Project Fi's protection plan.

No, Nexus 5X's camera is easily one of the best in the Nexus series. Better than both Nexus 5 and 6, and it can be on par with the one from the original Pixel/Pixel 2 in many scenario if not better. Just because you hate LG it doesn't mean it has to be criticised for something it really shouldn't be. Their phones come with a lot of problems for years, sure, but Nexus 5X does not have a bad camera and that's the fact. Even though I use Huawei Mate 10 Pro now, I'm still keeping my Nexus 5X for shooting daylight photos.

The master of bootloop strikes again.
My old low end E510 bootlooped & thus bricked itself.
With reports of high end and flagship ones also getting bricked, I'm sure not gonna pick another LG...

I'd rather get the Moto X4 with a way way better battery life and powerful cameras + portrait mode (read: Google Pixel 2 GCam ported apk with portrait mode). add to the fact that the SD606 is efficient unlike the overheating SD808.

A very nice gesture from Google Fi. Good job! LG's bootloop problem is a real headache. I had the G5 and sold it after 5 months of this pathetic issue!

The Moto X4 is definitely slightly slower in CPU intensive tasks. There's a big difference in their GPU performance. The single rear camera on the Nexus 5X takes both faster and sharper pictures. And loudspeakers on the Nexus 5X are much much clearer and louder than the Moto X4.

So it's a downgrade in term of primary specs, only thing the X4 does better is it's "shinier/newer". So its definitely justifiable if some people want a refund instead of this (slight downgrade) side-grade.

Camera would be an extreme downgrade. In HDR+ on mode the Nexus 5x rear camera has still about the same image quality as the Pixel.

The Moto X4's SD630 doesn't have the Nexus 5X's SD808's A57 cores and the Adreno 508 is slightly slower than the Adreno 418. It's nice to have a newer device, but it's definitely a downgrade in some respects.

Last time I owned a moto was g4 and found moto to suck at security updates, I don’t care about os updates but security ones are a necessity for today’s online banking , social media and other such usage
