It just shows how many people has more money than brains. Apple, sad to say Samsung, those two brands must be avoided as plague from now On, because you pain 1000 dollars for stupidity, there is no such a smarthpone worth to pay 1000 dollars or more if it's not made of precious metals, you can't disagree with that

the quarter was week shorter now, they actually sold more iPhones per week than last year, but overally they lost around 5 million sales from that week. So actually volume of sales isn't dropping.

But apple is clever in thsi case, since what they do is tie their customers in their ecosystem where switching make it harder, and too much hassle
Unlike android where if you done with brand A you can go to brand B and still enjoy Android
Not the case for ios definitely

$1000 for a phone is really silly, maybe if it could do the laundry, cook, make coffee, drives the car for you, babysit, get you laid than it'll be worth every penny.

Tim have done well keeping the ball rolling regardless of the trash products for long enough.
But he should know to be scared now that the volume of sales is dropping.
Products that need to be refreshed is not happening, bad OS updates, is taking its toll. Things that Steve valued: quality product "just works" magic! no longer exists.. only a black box that fails consistently.
This lead to the endless questioning from customers, WHAT is my iPhone really doing?? Why is it having battery drain?? Why lag?? Why this not working.. why that not working?? Apple is not replying to me! Tim said product is important to us!.. will be refreshed soon.. rumors.. but nothing came out for years!
When the grass is barren for too long.. the sheeps will leave for greener pastures.

Apple reveue? Yes for 500 refurbrished Apple 7 thanks no.
They sold something thats true but their pricing is horrible every year they selling less and less and every year more and more of their cutomers leaving back to android due of horrible price, notch, bluetooth problems, bad reliability, and bugged and glitched updates.
This loss of customers causes increased prices in new devices and thus more and more people will leave.
Its a merry go round which will never stop until last customer will swich to different railcoaster.

if apple continued their pricing scheme where the new iphone takes the price of last year's price and last year's phone would price drop. they could have been selling a lot of iphone X
$1000 price is just crazy, i hope the S9 will not follow apple on the pricing scheme, they better not start the trend of pricing flagship phone over $1000

Evern if it sells half, still revenues will exceed billions dollars. Till today iPhone X 256 is 1560$, and cost 200-350 $ Rest is our money spent on using all expenses to adverts answer profit in company. Just get a job as sweeper in Apple, and you are guaranteed fringe benefits!

They did this already and many customers left already, that's why their mobile business is doing so badly.

this is pure crap. Most of people bought Samsung because of brand name, nothing to do with value or features, they don't have any idea what they bought. Samsung brand is lot higher than any other android vendors. People see samsung phones everywhere and that's why it is easy choice for masses and that's why very few buy those other great android flagship phones.
But what Samsung offered didn't meet the value or user experience customers wanted and that's why their mobile business have had downhill for many years already because after user bought samsung many are now switching to Huawei.

If Samsung follows suit with this crazy pricing, their customers will abandon them. Unlike most Apple customers, most Samsung customers are pragmatic and pick phones based on their features and value. If the prices are too high, Samsung customers won't hesitate to switch to other Android manufacturers. I hope Samsung is smart enough to realise that. Hopefully, A8 and A8+ won't sell too well, and make Samsung realise the folly of following Apple's pricing strategy.

Fewer iphone but more revenue all due to that $1000 price tag. With the next 3 iphone that coming up this year we will see even more decline with the ridiculous notch design.

rich people need Apple to flaunt their status how would they otherwise be differentiated from the rest and some of us outside that category who make the mistake of buying an apple product are met with the horror of ITUNES and we decide never again, still regret buying a used ipad mini 2 to not be able to transfer files from your PC like one is used to for ages with android is disgraceful Android devices may not be sleek and sophisticated but they are far better value and easier to use than an apple device

I am no Apple hater but given the billions and no-real-physical-advantage, then spending this insane amount of money for a smartphone defies financial logic to some extent given what choices are available. It is a personal thing of course, but seriously.. that's a very high markup much to the delight of their bank.
