16:9 looks good on a 16:9 screen. 21:9 looks bad on 16:9 screen. 21:9 screen doesn't exist on phones. So they put a 18:9 screen, so both 16:9 and 21:9 looks less bad than 21:9 on 16:9 screen.

Main problem with the Company is the Mobile Division, everything other part is doing ok. Also wish they didn't sell off VAIO.

Look at Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
Mate 10 has bigger screen area, higher screen/body ratio than the Pro.
18:9 is a way to give you smaller screen for same price.
S8 and S7 edge : screen area is almost same, tiny advantage to S8. But battery got smaller and phone is still thick. FPS placed wrongly.

Bringing 18:9 oled screen, dual camera,... is hardly challenge to other brands. They would need to bring something new.

Whith the Mobile division CEO getting promoted to CFO, I hope the mobile division will get refreshed and new devices, more exciting and also more appropriately advertised and priced (XA1 Ultta same price as S8 WTH?!?). Even if you do not like them, any competition is good

Great run kaz, it took a few years but you cleaned up stringers mess and got Sony back on track.

Hmm we were used to him. But in a nutshell, now the most important thing for Sony (MD), will be to switch for the 18:9 screens, so finally it will be quite equal to Samsung, LG and all the others, as the article well said too.
