I still don't see anyone explaining why sd cards are a thing we absolutely can't live without. I only see people who doesn't know how to think a little bit out of the box.

The problem is not with storage space, the problem is with the stupid MTP which is slow as hell and can only allow one operation at one time.

Then try again with the expensive sd cards and you will see the big difference. 85MB+ is ok for 4k recording, but you get a lot better quality with the 115MB+ sd cards. And for the price of the 115MB+ sd cards, you can just as well buy the double up internal storage phone. Then you have better "protection" speed and quality of whatever you use your phone for. The professional photographers doesn't use the 10-20$ sd cards, in their 1000-5000$ cameras. For the reason that cheap cards simply can't deliver the best quality.

The plastic covers are useless, since they doesn't absorb but only take the hit and lead it straight to the phone. Flip covers are annoying, but some like and pays a lot for it. Tpu silicone covers is the way. But if you got Samsung, then it's useless and only flip covers are the good cover for them. And again, a phone is 500$+, so stop treating it like a worthless piece of toy!

SD card is very important for me. Phone storage must be not less than 64GB plus 256GB SD card and you will rock.

I dont get the idea on why people defending companies policy. as a consumer, we should demand every worth of our penny spent. removing an sd card slot is a planned obsolescence, and there is no reason whatsoever on defending the removal of it. it doesn't get in the way, doesn't take much space too. if you don't like it, just don't use it. no need to force your opinion to others. those companies that you are defending does not care about you except your money.

SD Card failure or being slow? Thing of the past, don't buy bad quality fakes but it takes brain to cheapen out and don't be fooled at the same time, borrow someone's if you lack, I've dedicated a fake $3 8 GB SD Card to Windows Ready Boost since past 4 years, neither performance is slow (the apps in the cache open instantly, and pc apps do have larger footprint than phone ones) nor the write cycles have suffered, this card has been used as a temporary storage for borrowed cameras, has been dropped in water, has been kept in wallet that stayed in my back pocket yet it has been more durable than any device that doesn't come with memory card slot. And if micro sd memory cards were slow no camera would use em for 4k or RAW, memory cards have standards, don't be cheap while buying em if it can serve you on multiple devices and last years of abuse. If you got a lemon it doesn't mean everybody else will.

If for any reason if a smartphone does a factory reset (hardware / Software ) issues, the data stored in the internal storage will get lost forever. while in the case of SD card the data can be recovered.
