But truth is what you said. I don't like manufacturers to remove features but seriously micro SD is overrated. I prefer they add back FM radio (which is normally going to be the case in 2018)

For phone to be fast no matter what you do internal memory is the best. Giving 32/64GB for flagship - same amount as in phones with entry-level-price is shameful, 999€$ priced phone should got more memory than one for 120€$. New pricy technology or sd slot is hardly excuse...

I used to like SD cards but no more because they are highly ureliable and slow. Many of them are not readable after a while. I love my S8 with super fast 64GB internal memory. As backup is very important, I simply copy regularly my files on several USB sticks through OTG capability.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2018Maybe those who have a brain prefer to be more secure. I pr... moreMore secure with a drive that's slower and more unstable than the internal storage? That easily gets errors like we know from bad sectors from back in the hdd days. Sure, that's just as secure as running raid 0 on the computer.

LG superfan, 04 Feb 2018Sd card is most preffered because it can fit in your phone ... more512gb usb can be in your Keychain and have wifi direct access to your phone, for backup. Bad excuses.

I really don't care if I have 16GB or 64GB or more, as long as I have an SD card slot.
If a phone lacks:
- SD card slot
- 3.5mm jack
- waterproofing
- USB-C (now is standard)
I'm instantly not interested anymore in that device, no matter who makes it or how superior it is to others.
It can score 1 million in any benchmark app, it can have snapdragon 1000 and 20 GB RAM for all I care.
NO THANK YOU! I'M NOT INTERESTED IN GARBAGE PHONES!
This is a list with the ONLY phones providing those features: https://m.gsmarena.com/results.php3?chk35mm=selected&chkUSBC=selected&sAvailabilities=1&sIPCerts=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&sOSes=2&sChipset=1&idCardslot=1
Only Samsung, Sony, Nokia and LG. The rest are just copy/paste wannabes.

64gb with sd is more than you need. I am not even sure if I ever will use sd card with my phone which has 64gb, unless I would have it as primarily phone more than 2 years.

Zenodroid, 04 Feb 2018Sd card is overrated. Phones are getting faster and faster,... moreMaybe those who have a brain prefer to be more secure. I prefer to have data backup in different places. Phone, SD card, Cloud and PC. Even if a phone has 1tb of space, I would still use the sd card for multimedia and have it automatically backup to other storage places.

Sd card is overrated. Phones are getting faster and faster, so you need to buy expensive cards to have everything running smoothly. Cheap cards have problems with the temperature around the phone, they slow down the phone. (yes you can feel the difference when you use the expensive cards). There are 100s of fast and easy ways to get backup from the phone, without sd cards. Or, for those who knows how to use a little brain.

64GB base storage is a sweet spot for today. I still hope that 128GB will be replacing it by 2019 and become the most popular base storage, because I just filled up 41 GB of my 128, but in the following years, things like slo mo with even higher resolution and even more FPS will become popular, like 4K@60 or even 120 FPS, and apps will grow in size, same for OSes even though that won‘t be that much different. And once we reached 256GB base, that will be a thing we will be able to stay on for several years, also to lower the price of the phone itself over the years. Options can still be like 1TB, but base 256. Thats‘s also the size I want laptops to move already as base, because my 128GB laptop annoys me.

Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL = 256GB = 600$
It is both still fair in price range and fast in doing everyday tasks.
180GB is being filled by project materials.
Approximately 50GB is left out for multimedia which was not my aim to choose it.

Even if a phone has 512gb storage, I will still prefer that it has micro SD card slot just incase I need one especialy if you have an SD card.
