If Samsung or LG releases a symbian no one would buy it right? Cause those korean stuff just don't cut it. In my dictionary korea means zero innovation - which is a fact. You get more features for the same price from those two companies just because they don't have any R&D expenditure. However, it's gonna change soon as Samsung is getting ditched by Apple and other big companies as their suppliers. Now they really need to innovate to survive which won't happen lol.

The results from Q2 of 2011 clearly prove it.
Nokia was traced and shot down by Microsoft (Elop). Now Nokia has no chance to survive without Microsoft, and as a loyal slave will have to support with all it's resources Microsoft in it's "I will conquer the earth" war. I'm sure, Nokia council got generous 6-7 digit bonuses from Microsoft, while the rest of Nokia shareholders lost hundred times more.
Though, I have to say, it's a genius tactics by Microsoft: pocketing a giant phone maker for free (+bonuses, of course). Now Nokia is not more than a puppy on a short Windows leash.

Some of your comments made me laugh...Get over it! Nokia won't regain it's place ever. Currently Samsung, Apple, LG and HTC own the market (mostly Korean manufacturers, considering that Samsung used to make Apple's chipsets, until recently - that's why Apple delayed the Iphone 5 launch, because their new chipset manufacturer couldn't solve the overheating issue). By 2012 I BET THAT either Samsung or HTC will occupy nr.1 place in Smartphone Terminals industry.

Nokia said they won't modify WP but I don't believe that. They have the right to and I think it's just a marketting ploy to keep the other OEMs calm and Nokia will surprise everyone with a skinned WP device.

IOs and Android are good for some like mobile browsing and social. People won't use USB OTG everyday but use web browsing everyday issit? Music player on Ios is slightly better but now LG and samsung are catching up. LG music player by far the best

To get no.1 spot is easy but to maintain it that's hell difficult. If samsung or apple making silly mistake once, it will affecting the customer trustworthy of products even do it can be fixed. Example : SE, Nokia.

how childish you are nokia fanboy. wp7 mobiles are terrible because of zune and beside that they are ugly and hard to use. nobody wants wp7, look at the sales. android and apple are the only 2 hard challangers on the market. nokia is dying sure and slow. wp7 was their final mistake,the beginning of the end

90% of nokia n8 and c7 have big display problems: square stains of purple in the dark zones. this problem was well known by manufacturers and they let all this devices to leave the quality control in order to cheat us. for this last mistake nokia deserves to die

It's too late for Nokia to restore their sales as their had at the last years that means the downfall is worst than they expected Samsung surprised us with such fast move in their sales & their technologies TV's smartphones..etc so who is the winner? We are of curse because we enjoy their tech

Hey, GSM Arena, in light of this article would you take back your words from your news article from July 22nd "Apple surpasses Nokia in global smartphone shipments" which read: "But as a company Apple sells far greater number of smartphones than any single Android OEM, with even the most popular OEMs such as Samsung and HTC selling only about half as many smartphones as Apple."
19.2M doesn't sound like "about half" of 20.3M to me, right?
