HTC have some beautiful solid high quality phones. I'm still using several A9s in our business. Flawless zippy things. We would have updated but those shiny back phones while good looking didn't appeal despite excellent internals. Not into glass backs either. Horrid smudge pieces, the latter applies to many manufactures thought. Do a solid phone, metal back or combo metal back glass and uncompromising prior leading HTC specs. You are good quality and taken some innovative steps. You did a better job of pixel 2 than LG. I can see why Google loves your stuff. Now go, and prep a great race horse and then market it.

Dave, 11 Feb 2018They deserve it. The HTC 10 has been the worst phone I have... moreWhat rubbish, they didn't remove the 3.5mm connector from the HTC 10. I have one.
And my battery lasts for days, it depends what you use your phone for.

They deserve it. The HTC 10 has been the worst phone I have ever bought, having terrible battery and power issues. Also HTC removing the 3.5 jack was another nail in their coffin.

HTC deserves no sympathy, not from a single person. Those who have purchased their products in their past or have had good experiences with HTC should honour that cause those are the times HTC got it right. As for what they've been doing as of late has just been plain reckless. These results reflect their decisions. If they just sat down for one second and had a look at what LG (a company in a similar situation) has done, they'd realise they can't keep releasing lack-luster phones with each wave the competitors do so. Take your time, tighten all your loose ends and come out with something polished and as close to all-rounded as possible. Take a page from OnePlus and price your products competitively. Get the Pixel 3 RIGHT, don't focus on GIMMICKS, focus on a pure Android experience, focus on quality control. Don't release a bucket-load of U-products, release one with at most a larger variant and compromise NOTHING. We can't keep having the same argument everytime your fiscal results are released only for you to repeat your previous mistakes a year later.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2018All I can say! Nokia In - HTC out!Nokia ia out, again, by not allowing their customers to root their phones. In other words, Nokia phones are useless to me and others who won't use an android phone unless it is rooted.
Could it be because they don't want you to delete their surveillance software? :))
          I'd stay away from Nokia..

Their physical home button make the phone ugly. They made good looking handsets without physical home button in the past with m7 to m9 but later make ugly design because of that physical home button.

hardly surprising, their phones offer no good value for this price.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2018LOL, what great quality without the 3.5mm? Sure with a dong... moreYou do realize that if one is really into music, audiophile-level - they will use a portable headphone amp with their phone? My portable unit uses USB-power and it as big as a normal USB-stick, so that and a very short USB-C to USB dongle aren't inconvenient to travel with. And to be honest, I had two different HTC's (Desire Z and M8), won't bother to get a 3rd one.

They can no longer build a good phone that people want to buy. They literally can't figure it out and just keep going further off the rails. Can't figure out battery life. Can't figure out form factor. Can't figure out screen size. They'd be better off firing their designers and copying OnePlus.

Imperator Neubaticus, 07 Feb 2018Lol sony phones were never better than htc phones. It's jus... moreI was a very big HTC fan until they started making cardboard quality phones and lately by removing the 3.5mm jack.
They have no excuse. They did this by their own hand.
As for Sony, try one (by that I, mean a High-end phone, not a mid-range) and you'll never choose a different brand.
I have a 5 year old Sony that is still working flawless (C6603 Original Z) + a red XZ Premium that I simply adore.
Don't trust all these haters, try it for yourself and see if it suits your needs.
I don't want HTC to loose, even though I'm not a fan anymore, because competition is always welcome. But the removal of the jack and making shiny colors to compensate for the bad quality buuld is unacceptable.

U11 has one of the best camera, one of the best performance 835 phone, and one of the best hardware with 6GB RAM. HTC should grab market share with the better looking U11 Plus with a up to date dual camera setup similar to Apple and Samsung adding a 50mm lens camera on the rear with similar very high IQ of its fantastic U11 (or Pixel) camera performance. However, HTC didn't do that. It rather let go the opportunity. You wait, you lose your audience, and HTC brand will back to nobody want category. Stupid management strategy.

It's just too bad they didn't differentiate themselves afterwards and stuff like squeeze features don't really excite people to buy a phone.

Hopefully HTC can find something to stand out a bit as I enjoyed the UI on the m7 more than the galaxy s6 edge + that I got 2 years later down the line but I don't know if I'd get another HTC until they have some edge, needs killer feature, price or standout quality on something. They're really good phones in an all rounder perspective but it would be nice for just something to hook us in.

Pair that with their meagre battery capacity and boom, you get uninspiring battery life.
