My first ever phone was Htc one X preferred over iphone 4s and many ios users shifted to one x by its smooth interface and beats audio, battery and front was pathetic i must say. After so many years battery is still pathetic in HTC phones why htc ? you are so innovative and bliss for music lovers why didn't you go for some amoled and bigger battery ?
In this portrait oriented camera era why launching htc u11+ without portrait mode?
It hurts to see such a capable company doing this shit. Love you htc but you made me sick these days.

HTC's battery problems makes it the worst phone ever. It also means I won't even think of buying a pixel. I wish I knew I'd be experiencing this issue, I'd have stuck to Sammy.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2018I think their phones still have great quality audio output ... moreLOL, what great quality without the 3.5mm? Sure with a dongle, but that doesn't count, because with a good quality dongle you can have the same audio quality with any phone. Except it's extremely impractical and inconvenient.
And yet, speakers do matter too.
HTC is now the last brand anyone should consider if he's a music lover.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2018Really sad to see the Android pioneer dyingThey had it coming!
Besides they were just too expensive for most people in most markets.
You can't ask premium prices if people don't recognise you as a premium brand.
For me HTC will always be that ODM for HP, Compaq and others. Or that OEM for cheaper brands. They don't come into my book as a brand with high-quality products but rather mediocre stuff that eventually got rebranded.
You can't ask premium prices with that kind of brand-image. In fact a HTC device should be cheaper then it's "HP"-branded counterpart. At least that's what consumers expected yet HTC got more expensive with their own branded products.
Then there's the unnecessary removal of standard features like 3.5mm jack. Which took years to finally become actually standard on smartphones. So obviously people will not just let that one go. Sure, it'll save a few pennies in your production but you'll loose your customer base. And it's not because we a have a jack in our phone that we must use it.... it's all about freedom to choose whether we want to use it or not. Freedom of choice used to be, what set Android apart from IOS-devices. But recently even Google seem to forgot that and which will eventually be the demise of Android.
If one starts to loose its grip on reality then down you go.

Lower the price, make a premium Smartphone under 400$ htc will be fine, cause around 600$ people will buy iphone or samsung

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2018Keep removing the 3.5 jack on most of your new phonesIndeed. HTC idiots should crawl out of their ivory towers and get their heads out of their arses! People have been saying again and again... No jack... no pay. And yet they just don't get it! I also want that IR-blaster back. You spoiled us with it in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and expect us suddenly to just forget about it? Why... because "you", manufacturers, want to earn an extra penny by removing a feature that (some) people use.
Then there's the unnecessary price-hike. Manufacturers should understand (and not just phone manufacturers) that if prices increase then consumers want something more in return not less!

In 2011 I had a HTC Desire Z with a physical qwerty keyboard. I remember defending my phone's features to an Apple fanboy. Loved the phone. But now, times has changes and I'm an Apple fanboy myself lol. Too bad for HTC but they shot themselves in the foot over and over again and this is the result.

The HTC U11 Plus can hardly justify it's 200$ increase in price over the OP5T.
Now if it would be priced around 50$ more than the 5T if would be the clear winner, but it's not.
Also if HTC's phones are more expensive because they are manufactured in Taiwan is HTC's problem and I don't care about it, I still think their phones are overpriced.

Yup this happens when a company puts blinders and earplugs on and fail to listen to input from fans and those who give constructive criticism.
Where did all the humongous bezels, meager batteries, nonsensical exclusives get them???
I know they made much needed adjustments with the HTC U11+... but was it done in time to save HTC?????
I hope so cuz i love HTC, but for their failure to adjust sooner despite all the outcry from sooooooo many.

It's too expensive here in my country. So I expect the sales drop like bomb. If htc can drop their price, I will go back to htc, next phone I'll go for Sony , their latest pricing seems more reasonable for some reason. Samsung phone just break too easily.(all their mid range especially j series famous with lcd problem. Even mine) IPhone just too much. OPPO vivo is pretty much shitty phone with high price tag. Xiaomi probably the best price but, build quality another story , and confused customer with China and global version. I'm not rich so I buy mid range phone. Even for one plus which is flagship killer, price is too high, I pretty much add a little more then I can get flagship from others more recognized company. Too much too complain. Nothing is perfect right

One Plus 5T is built in China which makes it cheaper. U11+ is made in Taiwan.
OP5t is sold only online, it is cheaper than having physical stores.
U11+ has IP68, better audio, better camera, better software, better updates, better design than OP5t.
Chinese brands have a national version full of adds like the free version of many apps. This brings money to the companies.
HTC does not spy on users. Nor cheat benchmarks to fool ppl and make them believe their phones are fastest.
