Analyst: more Nokia phones were sold in Q4 than HTC, Sony, Google or OnePlus phones

12 February 2018
Under the stewardship of HMD, the Nokia brand claimed the 11th place globally (and if you count feature phones, it was 6th).

This comment was more amateur than a primary schoolboy.
I don't think explaining you will do any good, coz you need to grow up to understand these things, maybe other adults in this blog will take pity on you to explain you stuff.

ZloiYuri, 13 Feb 2018Citation from HMD site Sam Chin is Chairman of the Board a... moreAre you still so desperately grasping at straws, hoping to discredit HMD?

Sam Chin retired from Foxconn in 2012. That's 6 years ago. Up until 2012 he was chairman of the board ad FIH, and had a long experience of cooperating with Nokia Corporation Oyj.

What about board director Gregory Lee, the former president and CEO of Samsung Electronics? Are HMD Korean, perhaps? Are HMD a daughter-company of Samsung according to you now? Or what about board director and CEO Florian Seiche from HTC?

You need to stop your racism and propaganda and start understanding that HMD Global Oyj is a Finnish company, located on the Nokia campus in Finland, with Nokia veterans, in close cooperation with Nokia, designing and developing their own products, of which they outsource the manufacturing.

ZloiYuri, 13 Feb 2018Citation from HMD site Sam Chin is Chairman of the Board a... moreSo you think CEO and Majority staff re dummy roles in order to hide attention from the Chinese Chairman of Board? Listen to yourself. You've been a Nokia Hater from day 1. Don't judge the company by one employee becoming Chinese or another being Indian. If that's your argument, then Google and Microsoft are Indian. Get a life.

Carol, 12 Feb 2018I think HMD is actually a Nokia branch. They just formed an... moremy thoughts are almost the same, making a separate company for their mobile division is profitable in many ways, like Real Nokia won't lose it's shareholders if anything goes wrong with the relaunch of Nokia MObiles,
        and
This will give a great tax benefit also. Basically my investing in creating a new company(one-time investment) they saved a lot of tax(year on year) and also saved the risk of losses.
If anything fails, HMD will be responsible for failure and Real Nokia will stay safe an so will the shareholders.

Although i believe once Nokia gains enough profit, it will eventually end up absorbing HMD(i guess that can happen by 2020-2025).

Sam Chin is Chairman of the Board at HMD Global and has more than 30 years of marketing, sales and operational experience in the global computer and electronics industries.

From 2003 until 2012 Sam served as Chairman and CEO of Foxconn International Holdings, a subsidiary of multinational electronics contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd
Any questions? Yes, in fact HMD is chinese. But PR making uneducated people to imagine it's Finnish. HMD just do marketing and sales. Anything else doind Foxconn. And control HMD. History similar to OnePlus. It pretended to be startup and independent manufactturer.

This tells to me that people value the good OS update rate, the HMD has gurantee to their phones. Hopefully other companies follow the example, but so far only Apple and Google seems to be in the same gategory in that aspect...

AnonD-690051, 13 Feb 2018and sony keeps moving backwardBecause the Sony quality is top notch the user no need to change phone every few years or faster. I wish Nokia can learn from Sony, even it has a sealed battery Nokia should also adopt Qnovo battery charging technology to prolong the battery lifespan and also bring the highest waterproof grade (IP65/IP68) like Sony did! Finally, the consumer can seldom change a new phone.

The camera might not b the best in the segment, but neither is it an under performer in anyway. So now I have a Premium phone that feels premium to hold as well as use, with a good camera with best natural pictures and one of the best surround sound audio recording, with a price much cheaper to it's competitors, and actually gives timely software updates and upgrades. The only thing I can complain now is it not being waterproof. Otherwise its worth the buck in any market. And remember its security isn't compromised.

Hope this gets their spirits up and motivates them to get back on the pedestal. Truth be told, they can be miles ahead of the likes of huawei, lg, and even samsung if they just play it smart. They were after all at the top of the food chain years back.

And i'd be more than willing to buy a nokia than a huawei or lg.

Back in the day, people chose a Nokia because they made good phones. Today, people do it for the exact same reason, not always because they know it, but just because the brand has a really good and deserved reputation.
By the way, HMD is not more chinese than Apple.
