Impressive as may be, I no longer care for powerful chipsets, be SD, Exynos or Kirin. What's the point of having the best chipset when I know many people won't utilise it to its best potential. I know people who shed out hundreds of dollars for an iPhone X or Galaxy S8 and they only use it for social apps and casual games, things that a 200 dollar phone can do. Nowadays, having the best chipset serves mostly as marketing to fool people and make them buy their phones.

Last year oneplus 5t and note 8 with sd 835 crushed iphone 8/plu/x on speed test with this useless high score a11 just for papers. I can’t imagine what sd845 and exynos will do now. Poor a11 bionic :(

I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE DOUBLE....
B... moreI actually tried that. and contacted apple for purchasing a Chipset from them. but they told me it will work ONLY if I use IOS. not android. so I contacted qualcomm and Samsung. (and even the dreaded Mediatek.) and I asked for their best offer. and for mediatek I asked if I could add a few GPU cores to them. (planned on grabbing the X30 from Mediatek. and simply swap it in a more powerful GPU) they said it's impossible. but Qualcomm and Samsung were opener. I didn't know about exynos's preformance. they refused to tell me. so I opted for the SD845. it preforms marvelously. but I knew I SHOULD'VE taken the better 9810.
P.S. oh well... I am trying to build a Kiya-touch T2. it'll house the Exynos 9810 and will be a mini Meizu pro 7 BUT BETTER. And I'll disassemble the T1, and use components from the T1 to T2, but sell the Qualcomm snapdragon 845.

Kiyasuriin, 13 Feb 2018You are aware that the Kryo 385 Gold is just a tweaked A75?... moreYep that's 100 % correct. The kryo 385 is a semi custom cpu core based on almost the exact same design template as the cortex a75, qualcomm just takes the core slightly reprograms some portion minor areas of it, slaps the kryo moniker and calls it custom design. Samsung m3 on the other hand utilises a completely different in house design from Samsung, it ain't based on any arm reference design template and its core pipeline is of a dramatically different design compared to the cortex a75

I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE DOUBLE....
But you know they have to throttle it to match the SD845
Just ditch snapdrg and fully use exynos
At this point thats whats chaining it down...
I say ditch it and aim for the a11 or 12

AnonD-737213, 13 Feb 2018You can already tell that this had to be throttled to match... moreIt was throttled, geekbench mentions only the clock speed of the efficiency cluster, which should theoretically be clocked at 1.9 ghz but here it's 1.79, you can clearly tell that the exynos 9810 would be able to reach much higher scores if the cores were running at their advertised clock speed but samsung was probably forced to underclock it because had it not done that, the performance disparity between the 845 and 9810 would've been even bigger but nonetheless those are some magnificently impressive results,on par and even better than those of the a10 chip from Apple. You can crearly tell that Samsung has been flexing its muscles and brain power hard when designing this beastly chipset!!!

wow, I'm glad I'll be getting the international version. There always used to be a difference between the exynos and snapdragon versions of the S line-up, but that used to be mainly due to optimization of sw. Now the M3 is a game-changer and I'm not sure how can Samsung can get away with selling SD845 it the US. The Mongoose is now 50% more powerful in single score and regardless of optimization, the differences in user experience will be noticeable.

Kiyasuriin, 13 Feb 2018I did read. and I am not high. the cortex A75 does score ab... moreForgive me, but you obviously didn't get the drift.
Snapdragon has been maming tiny incremental improvements in processors and benchmarks, and forcing every Android Smartphone to their SoCs (especially in the United States).
Which also applies to Samsung Smartphones, because, until now, Samsung Exynos driven phones were limited or handicapped to have similar benchmark scores, to ensure that they have their US customers feeling disgruntled. Samsung can do this, due to the underhanded IP laws manipulation that it indulges in, in the US.
Apple isn't as badly affected, 1) because its handsets are priced ludicrously, 2) because they design their own Chips (though they don't manufacture them), and 3) because Apple is probably the largest litigator in the technology space, many times more cantankerous cia the litigation route.

The new iphones get a higher score because iOS is easier to run and doesn't have anything running in the background. If the a11 was running android it would have a way lower score.

CAN you show me any evidence about Mongoose being based on a core? Samsung redesigns their cores from scratch. and do really well on that.
do note. that I referred to this quote:
"As for Snapdragon, I hope there is a group action lawsuit against them, for pushing such slow processors in every generation their their IP malpractices route. Smartphone customers need to sue them for hundreds of billions of US$. "

Kiyasuriin, 13 Feb 2018It's the same level as iPhone 7's score. which is still ver... moreIt is. Considering that the only way Apple sustains those scored on iPhone is by burst speeds in new devices that slow down considerably within months, even weeks, to prevent chips from turning to vapour.
Also, the Apple advantage is more on paper. I am yet to see any single video or photo process show off their super conputer chip's prowess.
