I don't understand the need for under screen fingerprint scanner tbh. If there is a fps in the back that's easy to access, there is no need to add complicacy. It will make the device expensive for no reason.
You do have Iris & facial scanning too. Don't rush it Samsung!

Samsung seems to be left behind.

I don't see the big rush is anyway. I really don't.
And for heaven's sake Samsung, don't decide to just cut out a whopping huge big chunk out of the screen coz the technology isn't quite up to scratch yet.

The Mi 5S came with ultrasonic fingerprint sensor... and the inminent Vivo X20 Plus UD, Mix 2S, Mi 7 Plus are rummored to come with underdisplay fingerprint.... Smells that they had not expected to be left behind, or had not planned well in advance, lol. Are they so incapable? The Chinese do everything in record time with good results...

To be honest I don't want there to be. I'd rather get a last generation of a good fingerprint sensor on the back, at a good location, than a first generation fingerprint sensor under the screen.
I still remember that ridiculous finger print sensor they put on the Galaxy S5 and Note 4. Swiping? seriously?
