I think 200+ grams phones are just too heavy. Esp I use a case and screen protector all the time. Imagine, the iphone 13 pro max weighs 240 grams plus a 40 gram case and a 10 gram glass screen protector. Heck, you would carry an almost 300 gram phone!

200g is ideal because of bigger battery.

Ideal is of course 170g, but realistically it shouldn't be more than 200g. Anything more than 200g is too much.

3D Memorys, 19 Feb 2018I think it should depend on the phone size, if it is 4.3inc... moreThat is true, but that doesn't apply to the Google Pixel 4. It weighs 162 grams, so pretty close to your estimated range.

My s9+ has increased my device holding endurance lol At first it was very noticeable coming from the realatively light LG G5( I stuck it out off and on with it for two years).

Nobody really cares about weight in +-100g range. Give us better battery, maybe even good battery and thickness at least 8mm for ergonomics.

An important part of it is weight distribution, if it's really uneven its easier to drop, feels more fragile. Center of mass needs to be in there centre of the natural holding position.
Also density makes a phone feel solid more than overall weight.

I care more about size than weight, for pocketability. Far too phones are less than 140mm tall.

I think it should depend on the phone size, if it is 4.3inch to 5inch screen around 140g should be a better weight, but if is above 5inch screen it could be 150g and below 170g, but when it is 5.5inch to 5.9inch it could be 180g to 200g, while the 6inch and above should be more or less around 200g.
Anyway the weight related to the touch and feel of the smartphone it all depends on the designs and the material of used.
A lighter weight can be more cheaper plastic of used... low volume of metal and less quality protections (IP68 and shock absorber) .
A heavier weight smartphones are MOSTLY come with sturdy build... less cheaper plastic... Perfect /balance mash up with compound materials... More battery capacity... More internal hardware.
I vote below 140g but with 6inch screen... massive battery capacity but with tiny size... Robust build quality... Powerful hardware... For the future.

AnonD-143504, 19 Feb 2018Xiaomi Mi5 launched in 2016 was 129g. I have been using it ... moreIntelligent choice bro.
I wish it had expandable memory, I would've instantly got one too.
I have a Redmi 2 Prime though, which is ok for my needs.

I own a Redmi 2 Prime with 2 SIMS and a 128GB memory card Card, it weighs around 135 grams total I think.
And I love living with it. Its easily manageable, not too big in pocket, and holdable even when you're laying down on bed.
For some reason, I never dared to replace it, although I did consider Galaxy S7 at around 150 grams.

While I voted 140, the lighter, the better, but I still want reasonable battery life.
The Galaxy S4 I had felt perfect. It was 130g. The S6, at 140, feels a little heavy-ish, which is funny, because I believe the border is somewhere between 130 and 140g.

Couldn't care less how "much" a phone weights as all even remotely modern phones are really lightweight. Current Mate 9 weights 190 grams and that's still basically like air you're carrying around, nothing to care about.

My galaxy alpha is what 115g? And its perfect, anything over 140g is imo too much.. same goes for phone size, anything over 145mm is imo a brick phone.
