I don't have any of these bugs in my Pixel 2 (Android 8.1, February security patch), so I think it is a problem in some units, not in all Pixel 2.

AnonD-481725, 17 Feb 2018Google must hire Sony for software optimization, Sony must ... moreSony manufactures it's own camera modules and many other brands also do use it's module... So nope, it does not need to look elsewhere but it's software department does need to ramp up...
To fully utilize the camera on an Xperia, one must move from Superior Auto to manual mode... Nothing wrong with the camera, but it's 'standard' software mode can result in photos not appearing as good as what other phone brands are able to achieve...
Cheers... :)

I’m facing the issue of battery drain. Have not noticed any heating. How long before the system stabilises after an update?

This might be a new record for the Pixel 2, it managed to not get any problems for a whole month.

This is another method of controlled obsolescence. They make the phone do each single job 5 times over.. They act stupid and want us to believe they are!!!

Of course. It's always those people with problems you hear, so you can hardly make a conclusion on how widespread the problem is from that.
For what it's worth, I have a Pixel 2 too, and I haven't noticed any problems. Though I usually recharge every night, it looks like I can make it two days on a charge (but I probably also has a less demanding use than average).
