Unfortunately, the video doesn't show the top right corner notch where the front camera should be.

Sad to see it , but one of Mi's main market is India and China where people see Apple products as "Premium" (i might get a lot of hate for it) , i think it's more like a business tactic.

They should beg A... moreYes , agreed even now when Mi is a popular and a strong brand it still copies content from iPhone , but can't completely blame them. Mi is hugely popular in India and TBH Most Indians are quite obsessed with apple (i'm indian) as it's seen as a premium brand here regardless how shitty their products are. It's more like a business tactic for them.

Sorry to break it to you all plus GSMarena this are not iPhone gestures they are web os gestures of which Apple is copying.

Anonymous, 17 Feb 2018Perhaps just because of the reason you mentioned? No point ... moreBy in large Apple is such a positive force.

Android had soft buttons for years, never transitioned to gestures, it waited for Apple first to do it.
It's not as if it doesn't have the numbers to push big changes, it's only the fact Google is so very conservative that only makes changes if others do it first...

See the same happening for face ID (so much better than finger, especially when perfected, it would eventually be usable for navigation too). Even in its current state (very conservative under Cook), Apple is *still* more innovative than Google which moves like a freaking dinosaur.

Apple is certainly not first but they bring a gestures based OS GUI (with no homebutton) to the big masses and making it popular. And of course that will make some other manufactures follow in their tracks and pick ut up as well. We have seen it many times before.

Guys this gestures are already integrated in MIUI (at least in the beta I'm using) for the Mi Mix 2.

You can decide between gestures or software buttons and personally once I stared using gestures I love them

                            1. Power buttons are rarely ever on the left (BlackBerry is the only OEM I can think of that does it)
                            2. Power buttons are NEVER that low, left or right side

If you guys can remember BlackBerry sold a tablet very long time ago, those tablets had gestures that are used by the iPhone X. And I have seen many other mobile operating systems with similar gesture controls long before Apple. So no one is copying from Apple.

Its fake, you can see the volume buttons + the power button on the lower left side. It's the Mi mix 2 held upside down.

This thing looks beautiful and using gestures instead of on-screen buttons is a really good move. No buttons that take up a percentages of the screen.
