Its an expensive piece of crap.
Nobody expecting from a 1000+ eur phone it will be bugged like it is.
Its a shame for a google.
Its almost overheating as a Snap 810.
Do we need to boil an eggs on phone???

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2018it feels like this phone is still on beta testing, the sad ... moreThis is why for every 10 iphone sold 2 come back with issue ( where i work )
where pixel 2 is more like 1 out of 50 sold.

but its okay bash on brand you do not like.

The issue is with the notification saying speed of charge not the charge itself.

every phone charge at slower pace if its very cold or very hot.

All my previous phone and my current phone do the same thing.

So Google just need to fix it so its say slow charging when this happen.

      Case closed.

I wanted to buy the Pixel 2 XL so much but before it was actually available in my country all sort of shortcomings emerged so I decided to wait. Also, the lack of wireless charging was a minus. I can't believe there are so many issues with it. It's not like this is the first phone Google ever made ...or LG/HTC. The given these days seems to be a bundle of problems and a price increase with every manufacturer worth mentioning. It's like we are buying prototypes...

I recommend everyone to just buy the Mate 10 Pro if they're looking for a good flagship phone. Its an excellent device I have been using it for 4+ months now and its the best phone I've used so far...

Wow? Really? Any rapid charging tech controlling battery temperature and sets charging current to prevent overheating. What next they will investigate? Earth doesn't flat?

$900 > mobiles apparently having all sorts of problems and issues, whereas, mobiles that are < $500 are working perfectly with the reduced specifications (like lesser Mega Pixel, lesser processing power, no fancy emoji bs etc..). I am seeing a 2 plus years old LeEco Le1 is still doing great in terms of battery, performance etc...which was a $150-$200 mobile

My Pixel 2 XL still charged same fast whether in warm or cool condition. But it has battery life problems where it can't lasts for a day usage. X

Lol. Same thing is happening with my Xperia XA. It started happening way back when it got updated to Nougat 7.0. The funny thing is, most of the time when a charger is connected, the charge current(based on accubattery data, same as these guys are using to test) goes as much as -1000mAh making the battery drain faster compared when a charger is not connected(200-300mAh = normal discharge current). I have these for months. One time I managed to drain the battery to 0% making the phone shut down, it refused to charge that it stayed dead for 2 or so months(did not bother remembering the exact time). It made me buy nokia 5, nice phone with its own little issues. I just started using this XA again when recently, it miraculously started to charge again when I randomly tried to connect a charger to it(don't give up, lol!). I'm pretty sure this is a software problem that came with their OTA updates. This article is giving me an idea. I'll begin monitoring the temperature too! A piece of advise to Pixel users experiencing this issue. If you are starting to see the charge current go negative(install accubattery or other apps that can monitor charge current when charging), don't let the phone die by draining the battery to 0%. There nothing better than a $600 brick lol.
