For its part, Google has just said the company is looking into the matter.

it feels like this phone is still on beta testing, the sad part is that you can't update the hardware to fix the bugs unlike the software. ever since it was release up until now there are different issues with OS and hardware. i wonder how google with try to entice customers for this years pixel with all this problems of the last years model.

That pretty much happens with any other phone. If I charge my phone I do notice that the percentage does not rise that fast in the first few minutes it was plugged in. I just thought that the battery needs to warm up first to get a decent pace. I don't see why this would become an issue. Just make an update telling that the battery isn't being fast charged.

Not to worry, its a non-Apple phone battery issue, so the readers here will sweep it under the carpet. No outrage, no fury.

If AccuBattery can see the temperature, then maybe all Google needs to do is improve the message displayed, and not say it is "charging rapidly", or better still "rapid charging not in effect as the battery is too cold".

This is a normal phenomenon with any battery.
As the temperature rises or the electron charge stored in the battery rises, the charging slows down.
Have a look, an empty battery charges fast and then see what happens after the battery charge level goes above 40%.

I've used two Pixel 2 XL's and now the regular 2, I can verify the charging is slower than the software tells me. It's a quick charge but not as fast as they estimate. Never noticed if temperature was a factor.
