11.1mm thickness?!? This is hilarious. FPS on the back, removing 3.5mm jack.
Will not buy it.
Old design was very good even with the bezels. Never care about them. I just miss metal frame on my XZP.

Flagship? Overall it sure looks like mid-range for me.
Even Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro looks far better.

Sadly it's still LCD. If it's oled, I will choose xz2 compact over s9 to replace my s7 because sony's android is the best Android software.
Sony was OLED pioneer. How come they can't think that using oled is a must to compete Samsung and Apple. Even some Chinese manufacturers managed to put oled screen in their flagship.

For those who complained about the old signature Sony design, the classic case of be careful what you wish for. Now we have lost a signature and classy design for a new design that looks cheap and looks like most other phones out there.

XZ2 compact - not !
- 168g: heavier than a Galaxy S9 and barely smaller
- 12.1mm: thicker than most if not any other standard phone made in the last years
Better than other phones - not !
- Camera still F2.0
- no OIS
- no dual camera
- no 3.5mm jack
And the design is boring from the front, and ugly at the back.
For me that will be no more Sony phones.

really sad, Sony is a damn big company so why they don't hire some good designers and why still f2.0 lens ? S9 has DSLR like f1.5 and sony still f2.0?? i really like sony because of fast updates and good build quality but ffs why such a horrible camera and such a horrible design?

For those people complaining too much about Sony that!! Sony this!! For Christ sake go design your own phone and use it, because you seem to know much about mobile design. Or else shut up and buy your favorite smartphone, there tones of them out there!! Nobody has pointed a gun at you to buy sony phones and that's why we have a variety of different manufacturers for you to choose from. Stop crying like babies!!

Even with fingerprint scanner, these new Sony phones won't entice American buyers because they don't offer anything the iPhone and Galaxy don't have.

Still thicc, still has big bezels, still using the same camera, missing a 3.5mm jack, fingerprint reader on the back, and the "new" design is a straight ripoff of HTC's U series phones. Oh Sony just pack up your bags and leave already.

New uglier design with the same old and ugly user interface. Sony should take notes from Samsung how to reimagine a smartphone. There are so many wrong with these phones from the ugly design that is a hybrid copy of Lumia and HTC, to the thickness, to the lack of headphone jack despite the thickness, to the same old user interface.

A sad day indeed Sony. While the curved back certainly is practical, the rest is just "me too"... But to an extent worse.
No dual cam offering? And still f2 aperture lens? Let's not even mention the loss of headphone jack, 2:1 bandwagon, etc.
I hope you redeem yourself later in the year, but I've delayed my upgrade for over a year in wait for something, but the competitors have been ticking the right boxes all this time, and then some...... Goodbye for now.

The back of the xz2 somehow reminds me of the Mi Mix and looks so plastically. They both look bland, nothing outstanding to me so it'll be another flop probably.

Huh, so much tech,.. all wrapped up in the same ugly frame design that hasnt changed for almost 10 years.. and the huge bezels. When will these guys drop the "walkman" design :(
