Apple should also revise the names. Many fans believe iphone 4 is a 4G phone

Good idea... poor execution. Nobody is gonna remember 'Royal,' 'Magic,' etc. Sammy should choose three consecutive numbers or letters so the rank will be obvious w/o having to know code. At worst, they should have only three differentiations. Most folks don't wanna have to learn your line up. It should be obvious. Dear Samsung. Just release the Galaxy S2 in The States before we get sick of your making us wait... and before you introduce this confusing code

This is a bit MORE confusing than the earlier system. Nokia's number naming system seems easier......

Only we indians consider nokia the best along with few others.
Every where else change is accepted and accept the fact that one cant rule the world till its end. Only until his end.
Move on.

Am I missing something or is just another entry in Samsung's tradition of imitating Nokia at everything they do?

Typical Samsung. First they copy iPhone design for their Galaxy phones. They are losing the legal battle against Apple. Now they are copying Nokia with "new naming system" and SE with the "pro" for hardware keyboards. Has Samsung ever come out with anything original? The only thing they're good at is copying.

AnonD-3601, 14 Aug 2011Nokia is way way better than any other brand...they make qu... moreYes and no. They sort of do use Gorilla Glass and metal on all higher end phones but they still make sort of idiotic decisions on mid-high end phones. Take C6 and C7 for example. All fine, except camera which is fixed focus and thus completelly useless for anything at macro level. I often take photos of prices in stores, schedules at the doctor, opening times of the stores, products specifications, QR or EAN codes etc etc.
You can't do any of it with any Nokia below N8 because you can't take pictures closer than 50cm at which range everything gets a filtered and sharpened mess. I was considering Nokia C7 last year and then decided not to buy it because of this. And the price was ridiculously high compared to other vendors. But the camera was the main reason.

Hmmmm,
from the letter selection, it appears the 'i' has been left out in case Apple has a patent on it already!
