Anonymous, 22 Mar 2018It's funny that when Obama's administration used it to help... moreDonald Duck is probably an idi*t and a result of inbreeding in his family, seeing how slow he actually is.

I am not a liberal. And I hate him. And I hate people who think they are cool just by supporting him. Hope you never meet me in real life.

"This misuse of data played a large role in the influencing of voters in the US 2016 presidential elections"

Played a large role in influencing?

Sorry, I have a BIG problem with this assertion. We can assume it played a 'large role' in influencing the result of the 2016 election but assumption is not evidence.

It's funny that when Obama's administration used it to help him win his second term it was fine then but when Donald Trump did it the media and the libtards are all pissed off. What a freaking joke.

This 'scandal' is just an attempt to divert from the fact that Facebook, Twitter, Google, mobile device/apps, data-mining, etc... has always been about the users being the product. Attempting to manipulate the viewpoints of users is nothing new. Manipulation of trends, view counts, locking/banning accounts, "shadow banning", etc have all been used as an attempt to contain virility and manipulate what users perceive as 'popular'. Don't trust these arrogant, immoral, power-hungry scumbags when they make excuses and try to censor opposing viewpoints on the basis of 'fact-checking'. The truth prevails with the free flow of information. Lies prevail when there is censorship. Any attempt to censor that which is legal should be met with fierce opposition, boycotting, litigation, etc. The aforementioned entities have been repeatedly caught red-handed meddling. Time for alternative, decentralized, social platforms to replace the cancer.

Stop using Facebook. It's riddled with fake news and fake accounts. Your friends list contains lots of those fake accounts unless you have personally contacted them via video call to verify if it is really them who is asking a friend request and not some impostor. You'll never know really. And you can't limit who gets to view your photos and videos and posts since any of your fake friends can just capture a screen shot of your posts, photos and videos and share them to others publicly. Nothing in Facebook is private. I repeat, NOTHING you post in Facebook is private whatever their privacy settings are. I deleted my Facebook account 4 years ago and prohibited younger family members from even creating one. Use at your own risk. Right now, only my dog has a Facebook account and nothing personal other than dog photos are shared. Stay away from Facebook before its too late to redeem your privacy.

                    I like these times.

In past , for many years , privacy concerned persons were warning , that Facebook was collecting too much data.

                    Nobody listened.

The people, who trash Zuckerberg, were first to setup their accounts and flood your walls with the (sponsored) news to spread their political agenda.

They liked Mark, he served them well.

But then, Cambridge Analitica figured out, that with all the data, they could select perfect demography for their clients. For politically motivated ads ands news.

                    And that didn't go well.
Hilary has lost, Brexit happened and more.

This has nothing to do with user privacy, is all about ideology. Leftist want to suppress conservative thought.

                    That's all.
                    That's everything.

its not data stealing when you give your permission.
youre sharing where you pee and eat and blaming FB ....

stay away from FB and use it to communicate with friends only. that simple.
sometimes i feel i watch 100 more videos and ads than really see whats my friends status.

wow, facebook toss user data here and there like a deck of card... what a news... obvious news... and now everyone are crying....

Well I have news for everyone who have facebook: you post all those data, not them. Just quick look at any person profile and you can knew what car that person have, where he live, what have in house, how many people live with him, do you have pet. All that informations is enough for even dumb thief to know when to break to your house and where to look most expensive stuff you have.
If dumb thief can do that imagine what data can facebook store, when they literally know how much you spend in front of PC/Phone, they know probably better what you think than your own family. Facebook can even track you outside FB site, because most of sites use facebook plugins that autodetect you, they know better what site you prefer than your own browser that you delete history so often.
Any company would want such info because they can change their strategy because they would see what people like, watch or comment.
If I would be in place of Zuckerberg I would just say it straight: you want facebook, you give us data. the end. Deal with it. They are now in position where they can say that without any consequences becase they dont have any competition, and people are just... not very inteligent, they will still use it.

It is concerning that Facebook allowed this to happen and that zuckerbergs answer will be framed and wholly slanted towards Facebook justifying their position to protect their interests. Glad I deleted by user profile 2 years ago. I could not take the tracking and spying making me upset when I saw it anymore.

techperson211, 22 Mar 2018Not surprised, since the smartphone revolution, people dont... morepeople bitching about data stealing , but everyday they want everybody know what they doing by posting at sosial media
