I may not need a compact flagship, but I wouldn't go for a non "premium" compact smartphone.

At least S6XX, a battery big enough, sturdiness, a good (don't need falgship-like) camera AND respect of the phone from its manufacturer = Updated + packed with good accessories. At the end a price

Can't believe I was a fan of compact powerhouses a few years back. now I'm using a smartphone of 6 inch display, single handedly! So, NO to compact phones from me.

Forgot to mention, S8 and S9 should have come with 6GB of RAM since the skin is heavy! 4GB is barely enough these days, especially with Samsung's aggressive memory cleaning.

5" is not the benchmark anymore especially 18:9 ratio is the trend right now. Samsung S8/S9 5.8" is slightly too tall, but the width is similar to S7 which is a 16:9 5-incher. The rest have either have an ugly notch or it's too big for one-hand usage.

The best balance could be the Nokia 8 Sirocco. A proper 5.5" 16:9 with bezels taken out. It's around 1cm shorter than S7 Edge despite having the same display size!

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2018The LG G6 is the limit for me. I don't want anything bigger... moreSame here. I recently got interested in Nokia 8 Sirocco exactly because it is a flagship and slightly smaller in size compared to S8, G6 etc. If it didn't have those edges I would considered buying it.

Yes, I think we still need a compact "smartphones". But not flagships. I don't think we need a high end chipset because it will make the phone expensive.

In my country, the Xperia XZ2C price is MYR2899. It's too expensive and I think it will not sell much.

                    Android lost it's diversity.
It doesn't matter if bigger phones are better, the Android World should be all about diversity.
We want big, medium, and small flagships, we want flagships with or without headphone jacks, we want flagships with glass or metal backs.
It's a big world, lots od users, we want diversity.
Get your shit together phone makers

The LG G6 is the limit for me. I don't want anything bigger than that.

there is always the optimum size for hands. why the mouse we use are not 1inch wider, because that larger size doesn't work well. phones once gone all the way bigger, galaxy mega2, phone width 8.5cm in 2014, some bold users used a 11.6cm wide tab as their primary phone. are they smart or fool? bigger is better? fools would not sense how the tiny difference on size affects the reaction between his hands and phones. try lay down on bed, use only one hand to control a phone. surely the note size phone is not the appropriate one. 30g of weight difference matters. if affects how many minutes you can hold the phone with just one hand.

Why try to impose our criteria, small and big hands are here to stay, some people don't hear well, some people want messaging only, some need to produce, film, edit it, and add sound to 4k videos. There are 8509 different phones in the market to choose from, yet I'm still waiting for my ideal phone because companies produce clones of clones with little actual variety.

People are buying 27 and 30 inch screens for gaming and photo editing, 60 inch screens for movie watching, and you want to do all that on 6 inch?

The question could be the opposite, do we really need tablet-sized phablets?

Do not misunderstand, I think the huge phablets are great handicap-devices for people with poor eyesight or motoric disabilities that makes it hard for them to use a phone-sized device.

By why should the rest of the world need to use those huge monsters to get decent speced devices?

I want to carry my phone in the pocket. I do not want to carry an additional bag for my phablet or to need two hand to fully operate the entire display...

Sure when we get foldable devices, it could be nice if the phone could unfold to something bigger for viewing films and imaged. But MUCH less important that the portability and one hand usage IMHO

Its crazy how manufacturers have it all backwards. It seems like there is still a big audience that wants compact phones. hence the success of the SE and so far the results of this poll. But it seems like every manufacturer out there think everyones got MKBHD's hands.

You are not buying smartphone to play games that requires big screens... For that you can use tablet. Smartphones should more for internet, GPS, maybe watching movies/YouTube, calls and the most important thing it should be comfortable to hold and use.
