The notch should be turned upside down and put on the bottom of the screen. It makes sense.

It's not like it can go away, it is fixed in place.
I guess they can just not use the portion of the screen on the sides, but then you just end up with a smaller screen .

Instead of bluffing and stretching the interview in The Verge, Carl Pei could have directly said "Sorry, our father OPPO asked us go with the notch and that design language, so we have to follow", simple.
