Weekly poll: is the Huawei P20 Pro the flagship you wanted?

01 April 2018
The rumors didn't disappoint - there's a 40MP phone camera on the market after years of absence. But is it all good?

I can't be the only one that thinks the photos are just meh? Eg the bike shots, I think looked poor on dxo. The night time ones look great, but a 4 second delay, no good for people. Need ois on more lenses, that Ai stabilisation is nasty at 4k. Slow mo is way better on S9. The processor is last year's beast. Having said all that, I like the way they used the notch, I like the battery size. But wireless charging should have been in.

If I could find a single picture taken with P20 pro where there's detail on peoples faces I would probably buy the phone. Don't know if it's forced beauty mode or just aggressive noise reduction, but people look like they're made of clay on pictures taken with the P20 pro.

AnonD-145316, 01 Apr 2018What are you saying Mr?? Must always just find something to... moreok, better than old flagships.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2018If it had SD 835 chipset along with stock android, maybe yes. But then there would be no AI which is the heart of everything that makes the camera what it is.

KaneJ, 01 Apr 2018Nice, but what ruins it is the notch!!Agree, this could be a great phone but they made it one of the worst phones just by cutting this ugly notch

Andrew, 01 Apr 2018No, not even remotely. The Kirin 970 is not a future-proof ... moreBut the Kirin 970 has the NPU which is enabling the device to do things that no other manufacture can do. In the P20 that NPU is already enabling more features than in the Mate 10. I'd definitely call that future proofing.

The lack of a headphone socket is a slight kick in the nuts, especially with the high quality DAC it has, but as long as it comes with an adaptor I can let that slide. The phone looks awesome in every other aspect.

I like p20 pro for the camera but i hope the price will be lower soon as the performance is great but not that great. I saw some performance comparison and the p20 pro performed slower than Samsung S9.

The notch and the lack of the 3.5 mm jack make this phone a little unattractive for me. I hope the next Mate at least won't have a notch. To come with the jack would be awesome.

The P20 Pro is stunning and would appear to be solid all around. Might be the most visually appealing device to hit the market in 2018...excellent color schemes and beautiful form. Unfortunately, I believe the price will deter many from considering this device including myself. Although, if Huawei offered a 6.6"-6.9" version of something similar to the P20 Pro, I would be on board regardless of the price. Think the camera on the Mate 10 Pro was severely underrated by many and I am sure the new camera setup of the P20 Pro will be amazing.

huawei should not have made the camera humps stick out to much on the P20 pro,so you are not able to lay the phone down on a flat surface,so the Glass back Huawei created will be needed to covered up with a back case cover on it,so you are able to lay the phone down flat and protect the back cover and camera humps,so all the money spent creating the glass back cover could have been saved by using more durable back cover, and made the P20 pro more afforable for consumers.Glass fronts and backs might look good at First but there easily Breakable and extra price of phones, but the phone produces should be thinking more of the cost of phones and there durability, but they are not right now

P20 Pro is literally the best phone in the market right now. I hope it's a best-seller so we see Huawei continuing in this direction. :D

Huawei Mate RS has everything we wanted to be included in the P20 or the P20 pro. It's too bad it's has high absurd price (RS) and the P20 doesn't those features.Thin bezzels, nice memory capacity, nice camera position (original and not like iPhone) and no notch.

No 3.5 headphone jack so no for me, otherwise looks really cool especially since the notch can be hidden and the cameras look promising

There is no perfect phone, every manufacturer falls shot every time, this is no different. Watched a few review and this phone has its shortcomings like any other claimed flagship s
