phones for gamers is just sad. if there is a market for them, more sad it is. people are getting lower and lower standards. first the cameras now the machines to play games... im still using desktop computers to play games with a nice mechanical keyboard, a premium mouse and mousepad with a 144hz screen with a nice chair for confort...why people play in a 5.5 screen in home beats me....outside home you dont need a game phone...

shongohan, 06 Apr 2018if the cpu is not a 845 (for the emulators performance is a... moreif you dont care about weight or/and thickness, just buy a portable power supply unit, and let the rest of us enjoy confortable phones. my phone is 163g and i think is already to much for long period use. my previews phone was 145g and was much more confortable to use in every day tasks.

As a mobile gamer myself ( although it is not the usual FPS or MoBa which it is pretty popular and able to make money off YouTube videos), and mainly just Korean, Chinese or Japanese mobile games.

1, it is not good to have a phone that bigger than 6 if the bezel is small(but not too small) and the screen size is big ( and yes you need those bezel too, and that's the reason that Xperia phone got criticized the most for big bezel). But you need a place to hold. And it is always gonna be holding it with your TWO hands, unless you are playing something that got *AUTO play* which most of games ( or maybe just the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese game does that now).

2, a better screen is also wish, the brightness, the Colour and everything ( performance and battery and those other hardware is important but they needs to make sure that you don't need to go full brightness to play the game cause that will drain your battery super fast).
I can play for a few hours of game on my Xperia XZ with 4G data and I can get more with WiFi. But there's a problem with XZ is the screen brightness, even if you turn off the auto brightness, it is still effect by the surrounding lighting conditions, which it could be pretty hard to see unless you turn the brightness over 60%.

3, front camera! Well it is pretty depends on the user, most mobile gamers doesn't really records themselves in the videos cause they mainly just recorded the gameplay, and what's the point of putting yourself on the videos in the mobile games ( YouTube gaming App let you turn on the front camera to record yourself within the gameplay screen if the sounds is not enough for you). But I always think that it is pointless! Not just the front camera, even the back camera is pointless if this phone is aim for *gaming*. So why not get rid of those and use the space for *gaming* improvement.

4, for the specs and performance. As long as it came with a decent battery and top notch internal hardware, and tune it to run things smooth. I don't care what version of Android they use or what's the UI they have.

At the end, all I want to say is that if this is a *gaming phone* let's focus on how to make the phone gaming friendly first. Like it should be gaming centric, and focus on that.

shongohan, 06 Apr 2018My dream still is that can reach at least 6.5" as the gamer... morePhysical controls will always trump touchscreen controls and their crappy equivalents like touch gestures and motion controls.

If a controllers only come from third parties, their will be nl incentive to make a proper game. What is the use of the big screen if it is filled with stupid icons and toich buttons? You like playing with your hands all over the screen?

SD 845 is not the best SoC for a gaming smartphone. We've got better options out there.

I have a 6.44" 16:9 phone and it fit's in a front jeans pocket still the vertical size is more the limit than horizontal one for that. Now if you add additional 7~8 cm to it vertically with same base 18:9 display & game pad controls it won't fit in any pocket. Naturally I don't cary even this one in the front jeans pocket as all do it first in it's still uncomfortable, I carry it in the inter jacket pocket and in summer season in a male purse.
