Steve Jobs made Apple what it is today. He used unfair tactics to strike at his rivals but also he managed to mesmerise and persuade millions of people into buying Apple products. I don't like Apple, but for his ability to persuade so many people into buying Apple, Steve Jobs deserves respect!

I wish I had sold Apple stock short.... I predict 20% drop in common stock price.

Dyl2thrill, 25 Aug 2011Do your research mate, Android is the worlds most popular o... moreTalking of quality product? quick comparison: compare the build quality of iPhone 4 versus Galaxy S2, not even close man. Or the build of iPad's versus any other tablets? Not even close.

I admire the quality of HTC handset specially on their flagship models and Sony Ericsson for their own innovative designs. I still have my Samsung i780 but it's sad to think now that they are copying most of the iPhone designs, up to the packaging/box designs. I will admire Samsung's mobile products if they will innovate with their own design. I do hope that they will not copy Apple display design on their LCD TVs and stay on their own creative elegant design.

Steve Jobs is the proof we are still living in dictatorship, that we want it, that it is in our nature.

It's not because Apple's ideas are brilliant and highly stylistic, it's becuse we are only looking for a dominant paradigm that we will follow, wheter it is aesthetic rule or our desires. Desires come from outside, someone has to tell us what they are.

Dyl2thrill, 25 Aug 2011Do your research mate, Android is the worlds most popular o... moreDo you understand what I'm saying? Or you're just cannot comprehend? You read my comments, is it that I'm only referring to Samsung with Android OS? I even referring to revenue alone. But even then, let's include the whole Android sales to give you a good comparison. While the statistics said that Android has more units sold/activated compared to IOS, I would bet that IOS still ahead of Android gross sales because the market is flooded with cheap Android handset.

"Android is the superior operating system in terms of performance">> Are you kidding? even in the Android community says that stability of Android is inferior compared to IOS, there's still a lot of bugs, crashes, incompatibilities, etc, etc...I don't want to mention all because there's a lot. My Galaxy S2 cannot connect to my router because I'm using WiFi-N. Rear camera is not natively suported by most of IM's, it sucks, and so on. Read Android forums and you will see. And take a look at Macafee rating, Android is the most vulnerable OS to malwares?

About the functionality? It's a user preference, those that don't want the cumbersome of customizing, rooting, installing custom ROM's etc, IOS has the functionality that most people wants.

Style? Oh come on, you're blinded by your ego. Why everybody is copying iPhone/IOS style? Wake up, and do more research and come back with figures, not speculations and comments full of hatred.

Although i don't find apple products so good as the company says (except from their pc's) steve turned shit into gold. Excellent manager but apple is the company with the biggest thieves. Don't blame htc and samsung for stollen patents that's redigulus, blame your company for not creating real beasts like sgsii and evo3d.

It was expected since he has no more than couple of months to live due to his disease.
He obviously has only one wish before he die: to rule the world.

The master of manipulation, the first CEO who figured it out - to seduce users instead of producing products for them. To tell them what they want instead listening what they want.

His enormous power comes from using the simple human formula - that we are all sheeps, shallow as we get.

By using this formula, Apple will continue to be the leader of the world, our sedative and charismatic dictator who we missed for so long in this pathetic capitalist system.

I'm sure that some Apple employees are sad at this news, but even sadder will be Samsung's mobile phone design department. They'll be panicking now, and looking at other companies for inspiration, or else, they might actually have to come up with designs themselves. Gasp!
