    Obviously not. You needed a fridge, you bought a fridge that would work well for YOUR needs, and not involve extra work just to be a fridge.

    Why would people invite upon themselves something that requires more work for their needs? They're the best qualifiers of their needs, and Android is not meeting them, evidently.

    If iOS works for them and their needs are well handled in the walled garden, then it's the objectively better place to be - people are not interested in capability and farsighted dreams, they want it working now, on time, with regularity.

    You could literally place a copy of Auschwitz inside a phone to power it, and they would not care so long as it did what they wanted. People don't want to have to know the intimates of what they use outside of their interests - it's how the world works on almost all levels.

    Your choice of table-saw would probably horrify a expert on the matter. Or perhaps your home decor is abhorrent to someone else. Are they objectively worse? No. They work for your purposes - and so long as they manage that, it's unimportant what anyone else has to say on the matter.

    Adam and Eve were happy in the walled garden - Cipher was happy in the Matrix. Do the details matter at that point? After all, if you can't tell the steak isn't real, does it actually matter if it is or not? Android is for people bumping at the walls of the garden, not for the folks who haven't yet put on fig leaves. You can jeer at the folks in the matrix all you like as you eat your gruel and talk about women in red dresses, but at the end of the day, do they care if they're eating steaks instead? It's a difference of philosophy at that point, and I would argue if one is satisfied it's ultimately unimportant how that comes about - they are, you aren't, such is life. Or maybe you like your android in which case all the power to you.

    You ought to envy them, really. They stick with it because it makes them happy, and your personal views on how they should use their devices are irrelevant if that single metric is met. One of the reasons Apple is so successful is precisely because of their ability to meet it for huge portions of people.

    Ultimately arguing about this stuff is facile - it works for them and meets their needs, ergo, it is functionally perfect. You can argue that objectively in formal fields of UI study or whatever maybe it's missing some things, but it doesn't matter if people don't notice it.

Mp3 are also the same for them as ac3 for most video players, they just want them to use copy-right material and those are associated with pirated files. Well most of OS is made in way you got everything you can imagine at simple tap, you just got to put the wallet in. Its nothing like windows, android or any linux, its made with not just simplicity but also with profit from app usage in mind. And once you get used to that, even if you pay for it, you will later pay for it without thinking twice.

            there are few commands that Android cannot do (NATURALLY. without installing third party apps that enable do these things)
            ever since iOS 7, you can slide your finger (in the side where "back" button appears) to return to the previous window. it exists in all the OS. (as far as I know. there are companies that implement that feature on their devices, but it's not a full return. like Huawei P9 and Meizu Pro 7. but stock android doesn't)
            the ability to ACTUALLY LOCK yourself inside an app. (Stock android doesn't have. Samsung, LG, and Xiaomi as far as I know do) for educational porpuses.
            "Shake to do stuff" shaking to do next song, shaking to cancle. naturally. ANY android can't do it.
            and lastly. sharing stuff accross all apple stuff you got. (I got just the iPhone 8, Had an iPod touch 6G, accidentally ran over it when I entered my car. XD)
            please remember. I am NOT an iSheep. I have both iPhone 8 (From work) and Galaxy S9 (my daily driver), along with some more android devices. and I'll always lean toward ANDROID.

              Yeah, well 80% of them have no clue where is the US located on a world map, but I guess that's perfect for Apple :))
              It takes one celebrity to appear with an object in his/her hand and everyone will want one..
              It's actually sad to see people are that easy to influence. And they effing dare to say they have personality when clearly all they are is sheeps.
              Sheeple, apple products will only make you dumber by keeping you in that restricted ecosystem. Do some research, wiki about open-source.
              I for one would never choose ios over Android. That's exactly what I said when I went on an interview and found out it was for an apple store. And guess what: they told me I got the job after saying that but I said no, thanks, I'll pass.. :))

                They also like the stupid theater in WWE, so no wonder they are iphone fans. Exactly, generation of ...

                    I am virtually certain your introduction to iPhone was cursory - because I had the exact same thinking. However, if you analyze it objectively, it really isn't.

                    Your basis for this is your familiarity with whatever random OS you happened to get when you were starting off. I love Android, but that's almost certainly because it's all I've ever used for any length of time, so it's familiar and I can do what I want on it.

                    I didn't like Linux. As a compsci student, it's grown on me, as I've spent a lot more time with it and started understanding how it works.

                    You almost certainly do not say this as a full time user or one who has had a balanced experience with both of them.

                            My only issue with Iphone is "NO Freedom/Limitations" (short version) and now there is no Headphone jack... I mean seriously No headphone jack ? thats the reason i am not going to buy Google Pixel.

                            In simple words i really really love ANDROID because freedom its provide... and i really hope some other OS comes up with same freedom which Android provides.

                                    To the people acting contemptuously about this, and in expansion of my previous commentary, here's a simple question to ask:

                                    Why did you buy your fridge? Can you expect to be able to fix it yourself?

                                    I imagine almost none of you will say yes to the second question or list the intimate details of the fridge (I like the coolant it uses, etc. etc.) for the first.

                                    Your priority in buying and choosing your fridge, almost certainly, was not predicated on its engineering and knowing what each pipe and capacitor does. It was predicated on buying something that was perceived to work - because you want your fridge to be a fridge. I doubt any of you particularly care beyond its ability to fridge stuff.

                                    Boom. Some of you will come back and say yes, in which case, I'd imagine you're... like, fridge repair people or whatever that fix that stuff for a living. Everyone else doesn't want to know that - they just want food that is refridgerated without problems.

                                    This is the exact same rationale for buying things like iPhones. Now, I won't say their understanding is perhaps correct, but based on their perceptions and "knowledge" of them, iPhone is ostensibly the better choice for snapshots and stuff the teens like. So.... why would they avoid it?

                                    Doing otherwise would be idiotic. Android works for other people - and I damn well expect they'd either as a consumer (generic) not justify their choice in terms of technical details, or (poweruser) do so because Android is objectively better for those types.

                                    You have to understand the basis of thinking before you can critique it, and I guarantee many here doing that are doing so without realizing they do think the same way for 98% of the other stuff in their home. Different priorities, not necessarily wrong.

                                      Others may just envy how apple does it, or do the same. Own stores, chips, OS, simplicity, years of AI, quality image of brand with pc/tablets in schools/business, and the most, apps and functions available only in iphones. With majority owning them its like avalanche. Not being foreign brand plays big role too.
                                      Not to forget you can choose from new or old flagships, no midranges/entrylevel phones. They also look almost the same old or new(if not for X). Only true alternative is either new pixels or yet non existing surface phone, for Similar experience, so not really surprising. They are not any specs hunters, they want just cool device that works ang got big support.

Wel... moreYep i bet at least 90% of them have never tried Android and probably never will unless they are forced to. So the only thing they don't like (And the only thing they know) about android is "It's not fashionable".

                                        Not that i have tried iOS, but i already know the facts and i don't need to try it to know it's not for me, both in terms of software and in terms of hardware (I admire their loudspeakers, though. I wish other manufacturers would copy that instead of all the negatives).
