I dissagree. I bought my gf a Xiaomi Mi5 since her iPhone 5s was long in the tooth, needing recharge 2-3 times per day. She had never used a phone OS other than iOS till then, only fiddled a bit with Android on my tablet. She is not a very demanding user, just some music, gaming, messaging, social media and photos aside from calls. She got used to her phone pretty fast and she only asked for my help for things she wouldn't bother to do with iOS too, like linking her bluetooth earbuds.

After a year, she is perfectly happy with a phone that cost half than the equivalent (in terms of storage and screen size) iPhone would cost at the time. So, I think that Android phones are for average users that want good value for money, which are a huge segment. iPhones are for the limited edition sneakers set. People who want something that's both good quality and above all trendy. Which is were many teenagers fall.

Crappy battery, no sd, no second sim, no 3.5mm jack. It's a total anti-smartphone. Wouldn't accept to use it even if THEY paid me the price it costs.

              Baaaaa!

I used to like Apple (but not loyal to Apple because I prefer Windows to MacOS), but after the crap they did since iOS 10 onwards, it was enough and I moved back to Android. Not to mention that iPhones have really mediocre battery life with respect to Screen-on-time, and the annoyance that you have to load everything in iTunes first before you can copy them to your phone. The only thing I probably miss with iOS is replying from the lockscreen, but not enough reason anymore to go back to iPhones.

False. They are forced to use it, because the schools are using apple for education. They also started that here in Europe. It's not by free choice, but by only Choice.

82% of teens but 45% overall would indicate a trend away from iPhones with age?

The entire "overwhelming" popularity of the iPhone seems to be a very much American bubble - yes, it's well known everywhere around the world and yes, there are a certain number of people anywhere who do prefer it - but based on my experience at least they're not all that many around me here in Europe; the iPhones I do see are mostly just a few drops in a sea of Androids...

They surveyed mostly iPhone users so of course the result was like this.

Personally whenever i see strangers, i ask them what phone they use. Their answer instantly tells me a lot about them. If they answer an iPhone, i instantly lose respect for them. I'm not fond of iDiots you see. :p

How do iPhone users manage to use their phones without notification LED? This feature alone disqualifies iPhones to me

Wow .. Apple has a great future but not America. Apple does'nt even have its money in America. XDXD God Save the Teens.

FromChinaWithLove, 11 Apr 2018None, but most kids won't ask for a 1k Android anyway.because they know it still lag , right ?

no wonder android user are smart

iphones are very trendy and cool.. not only teenagers, but adults think that as well.. Many people choose android because either they need that extra functionality or they are too poor to buy any high end device... whereas iphone is like a standard to look rich enough, thats why you get to see most celebrities prefer iphone.

Not just in the States and not just teens...
I wanted to retry an Android again (Samsung Galaxy S8) after my iPhone X.
Didn't take long to remember why I switched to iOS a few years ago.
Never, and I mean never again will I buy anything else but Apple.

Many teenagers here want iphone too... and it's not because they are dumb or arrogant little brats. teenagers will always choose what's cool and trendy.
