Nice phones...I will definetly look for the wave 3..
But.... there is still a problem....
Samsung still not taking their own OS seriously...
Why not a second flagship in the S2 body with amoled plus?????
If sammy is affraid of wave 3 will affect the sale of the andro s2 it is bullshit...
They have to think google bought Motorola and in a new future it will take over the andro os and built their own phones...
Sammy has to come together with LG, Sony and some other Asian phone makers and develop bada together and leave and get ready to leave Andro slowly slowly...If sammy come together with them there will be able to make a huge Bada app market and Bada will have a biger slice of the mobile market...
Sammy, HTC, Sony are big companies but if everybody tries to make their own OS they will get lost quickly..
Just my humble idea....

S8600 WAVE 3 should have a 4" display, and WAVE M a 3.65" display but in your pictures the WAVE M is bigger than WAVE3.

Anyhow, Im pretty content with the wave3 specifications, I didnt expect to exceed galaxy S2 since thats their flag ship.

Wave3 will remain a great phone for affordable money. An operating system similar with Android, on a powerfull enough phone.

I know everyone dreamed about a dual core processor of at least 1 Ghz but the BADA operating system cannot sustain dual cores. So 1,4 Ghz for a phone its acceptable.

Wave 3 its the upgrade that Wave 2 was supposed to be for the original Wave.

Disappointing Sammy... you put so much effort on Bada OS but the waves are not equal to the VERY good job you have done. I expected more from the device that will carry this solid OS. The design is similar to Wave1 & Wave2 which is not conviently nice. I was looking forward for the next wave but i don't think i will bother spending money just for 0.7" difference with S8500. But i should be thankful that you offer the upgrade of the Bada OS 2.0 to the old waves for free.

Microplex, 30 Aug 2011not official but the leaked XPKH3-OXAKH3 bada 2.01 firmware... moreThanks man!.. i'm waiting for the official one.. I like the bada OS but the browser sucks and i expect that in Bada 2.0 it will be improved. I was looking forward for the wave3 but i am disappointed.. the looks are very similar with our wave S8500. The same case, the same design, same camera... i don't think i will bother to give 300 euro only for the 4" screen which looks also very wide (long and tight... i prefer more squared screens). Anyhow, nice talking to you Microplex, cheers.

I must admit im a bit disapointed by this news.

              1. I expexted more from Wave3, because it is suppose to be a flagship device. The hardware is improved over Wave I and II, but they should have done better. This goes for the design aswell.

              2. All new Wave phones should have at least a 1GHz processor, so the Waves M and Y are a dissapointment too.

              3. The biggest dissapointment is that Samsung anounced these devices before IFA, which tells us that their devotion at IFA will be intirely thorwards Galaxy devices.

Having said all this, im sicretly hoping that there is aonther Wave device that is kept a for IFA... the Wave S.

BadassMF, 30 Aug 2011Hi mate, you said you have bada 2.1? how? is it official? thanksnot official but the leaked XPKH3-OXAKH3 bada 2.01 firmware.

still beta and has heaps of bugs and none of the widgets work and very little apps work.

Obviously their is a finished bada 2.01 production ready firmware ready since Wave III is about to be released but not yet for the GT-S8500 (Wave I) and GT-8530 (Wave II).

Just looking further into Wave III (I don't care about the other Bada mobiles in this release) from the looks of it, the hardware is the same as the Galaxy S Plus, so that means it has:

                  1.4 GHz Scorpion processor
                  Adreno 205 GPU
                  Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon
                  512MB RAM

Its a shame Samsung did not make Wave III their home grown KING and are keeping Android based devices at their top end, Bada OS has potential as do bada based devices as seen by the fact that bada outsold WP7 devices in 2010/ mid 2011.

Bada OS 2.01 is faster than Android OS 2.3.3 but of course does not have the same outright app development.

If the price is good lets say 475 euro (419 pounds / $685 USD / $640 AUD) at launch then Samsung will have a winner on its hands at launch and once prices start to reduce then Bada OS is strong enough as are the Bada apps for new mobiles buyers to consider Wave III over the Galaxy single core range of handsets.

Again bada 2.01 looks awesome on the SAMOLED 3.3" screen, it will look brilliant on the 4" SAMOLED screen much better then what Android OS looks on it.

                    was expecting much, much better.
                    like samoled plus, 1080p recording.
its just a bigger screen and faster single core, no ram mentioned.

it used to be hardware wise, bada flagship was almost equal with the galaxy flagship.
but now the bada flagship is demoted to older tech.

                    the xiomin m1 android 2.4 dualcore a9 1.4ghz, adreno 220 gpu, 1080p 8meg am, 1gb system ram, 4inch slcd is at 310 USD only
no wonder Samsung wants to buy xiomin to take out lower priced but better spec-ed' competition

now they took Bada out of the hi-tech race with Android and iOS.
if they can do this to their own os and bada flagship,
it says a lot of what plans they have for bada.
                    limited ambition and vision.

                      If Wave 3 have:

1,300 text message inbox capacity only -(not unlimited)
aluminum body that changes color depending on the ambient light (my S8500 sometimes look almost pinkish)(not real dark grey/gray)
                      RAM lower than 512 mb

                      I think I'll pass.

maybe i try the nokia n9, and other android phone.
