Discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note7 with Oreo on board gets Wi-Fi certification. Wait, what?

24 April 2018
Since practically no one should be officially using the Note7, it's hard to guess why Samsung went for the WiFi certification of the Oreo update on the device.

The s7 edge is smaller with a bigger battery and is just fine.
There was a flaw in the battery design. Already proven. And then second supplier had the same issue repeat because of a manufacturing defect probably because of demand

the cause of sudden fire thing was due to battery being at pressure all the time in bottom.
3500 battery design = failure, battery was too big to fit without causing internal damage to battery plates over time. so they went back to a smaller one which won't have the pressure anymore. battery was big for the slot that was the only issue, and simple as that pictures were posted and easy to notice even for kids.
get out of your bearcave and get updated with news XD.
it had nothing to do with anything else.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2018"Problem was not battery, it was internal design that made ... moreThey swapped battery after first recall.
3500mAh was not suitable for that design.

Investigations always consider many factors, including which department must be blamed for carelessness.

Battery suppliers, either Samsung itself or other manufacturers simply pay the charge In advance and everything is finished.

I read non classified investigation procedure, there was battery failure "during overcharging and overheating".

If they blame design team, it means they must blame R&D team, which cost heavily on further implementation.

My calculation is based on facts. I asked some officials after Note FE announcement about, smaller battery. None of them answered the same.

My calculation is based on physics and mathematics; So, If Majority say that 2+2 equals 5, My logic is unable to accept.

Design was not suitable for such Battery. They made it smaller by 300mAh and 2grams, then it fits with spare room for heat expansion.

              False.

The investigations confirmed the batteries were defective which is why Samsung switched suppliers and implemented a new 7-step procedure to ensure batteries are performing as expected.

The serious stuff, casual gaming on my Android PDA, and listening as well. (Or the IPhone 8 I have from work for apple music)
The only reason I have the Note FE is for playing Osu. No other reason. If there are other phones (Except galaxy note(on all it's families, including neo and tab), and LG Stylus) that has a stylus. I'd pleasantly switch. It's cool'n'all. Still wish for more power.

The WiFi Alliance does not require that. Proof: Galaxy S5 Neo (W model got Nougat certified but not F model) and all Galaxy Tabs with China models
By the way, DUOS model and Korean models got certified too.

If in any cases that means they'll bring back their greatest phone to date, then this is really really really awesome. I'd take a 16:9 smartphone over the newer one, and the N7 was simply the best phone around

N930 is the Code and different region will get different extensions.

N930F is not global version. Although they use it + N930FD for international use, It was labeled for Europe.
Problem was not battery, it was internal design that made batteries to explode in certain conditions.
The problem was solved by smaller battery 3200mAh and called FE.
Note7 was an excellent phone except its explosion feature.
As Exynos 8890 is still healthy and as the company covered the market with S8, Note8 and S9, I think Samsung want to give the Note7 a second chance for reasons:

1- Evaporate the bad image of explosion in people minds.
2- Get rid of already assembled boards for less price to attract buyers.
3- The handset can perform well for businesses and its battery life is not far behind the Note8's 3300mAh.
4- People who already own ill 3500mAh Note7s, swap it by same device with Oreo out of the box.
5- Attract more people to experience Galaxy Phones due to more affordable healthy Note7.
6- Fill the 16:9 gap as this year there is no plan for any above mid range model, from Samsung.
7- Note FE's reception in available markets was good enough to motivate the company for a re-launch of Note7.
