Oh boy are they milking it or what? It's all the same pretty much since the Android will be Android and you are pretty much limited to how you can interact with it.

from zero to hero, 27 Apr 2018I think it was 12mp not 20mp. But in that time only two pho... moreyou know, Nokia, like every other company, has already "copied" Apple before with the capacitive full-screen touchscreen, does that make them worthless or bad? No! Copying is simply essential in the market to help push it forward, by taking a technology and refining it or putting your own twist on it! The Apple Iphone 5 copied fingerprint scanners form tbe likes of HTC , but it improved on it and helped the market push forward and adopt them for better security! Same with Essential and the 18:9 screens, Samsung and edges...... if everybody keeps their technologys to themselves , then they would inevitably be worse, we need companies to keep improving the technology of the phones overall so we can all have better phones amd More Choices! It all benefits us in the end!
Also the notch wasn't on the Nokia 8 Sirocco, so i think HMD is just testing technologies to see what sticks, and it's forgiveable because even with the Nokia portfolio of technologies, many new techs have emerged before the comback and they need to test them on the market.
And thank you for reading! And remember everybody has different opinions sonit's ok if you disagree, nobody knows why companies do stuff......

Yann, 27 Apr 2018I remember how in the end of 2010, I bought my N8. Gorgeous... moreI think it was 12mp not 20mp. But in that time only two phones was close in alu build, removable battery with alu back case, first two phones with 720p recording, (Super) Amoled, HDMI for TV and others big screens etc.. This Nokia N8 with Symbian os, and Samsung Wave S8500 with Bada os. iPhone 4 in that time was limited to 480p recording, no fm radio, no OLED
But time changes, today Nokia copy notch from that same iPhone, just because Apple is still Apple, Nokia in mobile world is someone else today. unfortunately.

AnonD-558092, 27 Apr 2018Then why in the world bother with screen notches? Just to m... morethe Answer is :- notification
if you are sick of the boring LED notification light then what about a multi usege second screen
it first started as a secondary screen like the LG X screen (and yes it happen BEFORE the iPhone X) and then essential decided "why not making the secondary screen as a part of the main screen it allows us to claim more screen to body ratio even if most of those pixels are unused except for notification and let's add a background picture displaying so we will convince our silly customers that it you can use it in the end it is pure marketing BULL$SIT"
and then Apple had the same idea BUT since All of Apples notchs had the same dimensions the App development was MUCH easier then Android so there is notch supporting Apps on iPhone X (which still looks akwerd and useless for video)

I would like to see HMD bringing back large sensor series of nokia. N8, Pureview, 1020.
But i like to see that have a small resolution, around 10-12MP, just like P20 Pro.

Still have my nokia e7. And i still enjoy using the physical keyboard that opens when you slide out the display. If there's a nokia classic to revive i'd want that one.

I have all the positive emotions for N series. I have owned the N91, The N8, etc. Both legendary in their own way.
But my question is, in this kill-privacy infested world, will the N series return with Symbian OS?
Otherwise, honestly, what is there in a name if all we get is an Android with Good music or camera, the likes of which already exist?

HMD, stop wasting more time and start doing the thing already!
I need a new smartphone and don't wanna go for one of these Samsung, Huawei or Apple crappy flagships that become useless after two years(if the battery doesn't die, it's the screen that cracks).
In 2008 I bought a Nokia N96 and that thing still works today, I use it as my second phone.

Kiyasuriin, 27 Apr 2018When gaming , a notch may hide valueable bit or information... moreactually that doesn't happen why?
Because is NOT cutting a part of the screen it is cutting a part of the bezel for example if you have an 18:9 and you want to ad a notch you will have to increase the height of the phone to 19:9 in order to fit the notch
NO ONE is stupid enough to cut the screen (except on tall screens) if you did you will have a 17/15:9 TRUE screen size and 18/16:9 notched size
same goes on videos since most (if not all) video are recorded in 16:9 Aspect ratio so not unless the manufacturer are stupid enough to make a 15:9 screen size it won't do anything
BTW the hide notch option was made to to save battery AND to protect against haters
it has no effect on the App support

I’m sure there is no connection between an Nseries reboot and that Weibo post. It’s just pointing to the coincidence of having the same launch date as this weekend’s launches.

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2018I hope it has Notch and 3.5 mm jack. I've learnt to ambrace the notch in a condition. If I can toggle it. And I'll explain why.
If it's typical usage, I don't mind the existence of a notch. As many here said, it can be converted to a "smart bezel".
If "hide Notch activates" it yields a better gaming experience as the chance of hiding valueable info reduces dramatically.
