But, is being proprieroty and having to pledge all of your loyalty to "master" apple the best thing for the consumer? Master Apple says you will buy my product, use my os, pay me money at my app store. Sorry, bluetooth file sharing would need to get past my itunes security guards. As an American, I've grown quite fond of freedom rather than having 1 company in control of my sack.

Iphones in particular or all devices ever made by Apple. If it'd model specific the lowly Nokia 1100 is still way ahead with 250 million of that device. Nokia has sold over 1 billion cell phones. so what are you SPECIFICALLY referring to? No Im not a Nokia fan, I will never own another Nokia as long as I live.

Ok now Apple is REALY geting on my nerves with this BS.Apple STOP BEING JELOUS OF ANDROID´S SUCCESS.Instead of emplying these bs tactics why not focus your efforts on INNOVATION.Create something completely innovative,something that would make EVERYONE(Even Android fans) go "WOW"and not just"meh" or"not this crap again".
Bottom line:INNOVATE DON`T LITIGATE!

Thy are number one, and they make, allegedly, far more superior products compared to others, but as they compromise quality, apparently, they see no way to keep their dominance bit to drag everyone to law suits that would only slow down the technlogy enhancements... Apple has gone rotten I say.

Again when S3 or the updated version of the same Droid phone is released, they will again compare that too with iPhone 5 and will say how good Android is and Apple is crap.. Its natural to all Droid fanboys...

SG2 was avaliable Released 2011, April
iPhone 4 was Available. Released 2010, June
Lets see how perform SG2 vs iPhone 5...that's will be unfair too because then Samsung will be old and crappy with oudated UI
But then Samsung will release SG3 and then Apple iPhone 6 and gain and again and again...

iPhone users NO NEED EXPLAINS, they don't care how fast run SG2, for them paying for a iPhone means everything, they don't care those specs, they just want iPhone by the style.
In USA starts to offer iPhone 5 and guess what, they already have sold out ALL THE PRE ORDERS, gosh....no other phone reach that, the already put a sing out telling people all the numbers for pre-orders are OUT...
I insist, I'm not an iPhone FAN BUT I recognizes one GREAT COMPANY. Apple did what any other company only dream...and that hurts to Trolls and Heaters...

As for the notification bar, Android too copied that from Maemo.. And you should not really compare the iPhone 4 with S2.. S2 is a quite a new phone but iPhone 4 was released last year.. S2 is dual core all right but where are apps and games to take its advantage ha??? Also you are comparing the iPhone4 with S2 in the wrong areas.. The ace of Apple is its App Store.. Many people buy and will continue to do so only for it..

Many people bought the first iPhone because there is no carrier-customising crap. Whether u buy in US or Europe iPhone looks same. Maybe verizon phone little different but it's also non-customisable as others.
So ur main idea about customisation fail. People bought iPhone 3gs or 3g because there is no carrier control or customisation back then.
I think accessories for iPhone are the highest. From cases to docks. More than 75% of accessory companies make atleast one accessory for the iPhone. So it's ideally significance that iPhone is a fashion. I see iPhone mostly in women hands. Android in men hands. Women care only about looks and color-matching accessories.
I saw many people buying iPhone for fashion but more than 50% don't even use their phone for real use. They just use it show their status.
If I can remember android in 2005 used to be a software which only supported non-touchscreen phones and then after like 6 months after jobs unveiled iPhone , android too introduced multitouch. And in 2008 there were many phones in android which are unique.
For example first android touch screen phone from T-mobile. And slowly samsung and motorola lost their uniqueness. Motorola stopped rockr phones and started bluntly copying iPhone style where they give same RAM and same look or style of iPhone including UI.
Contrasting windows phones they look lot unique compared to android.
Samsung even copied USB cables from apple for galaxy tab i think and even packaging style. Even phones in samsung website looks lot same like apple's eye-popping photoshop style of representing their products. Even galaxy player haha same like copying iPhone-ipod touch and samsung is using galaxy wifi player to compete iPod touch.
That's what I call blunt copying. I agree android is somewhat different even though some places it resemble iOS. But these OEMs are so bad at inventing their own style. Because android is completely open source to OEMs they can easily change it to completely different look and feel but they are not doing.
Blunt copying is what android OEMs are doing and with windows phones i find uniqueness and true innovation with completely new UI and also new feel.
People till now criticise same OS on iPad and iPhone.
After ice-cream sandwich comes both tablets and phones get same UI gonna keep some mouths to silent.

Talk about Windowed RT Op systems:Check QNX in the 1980's. Look up QNX Photon microGUI! Then for your edification: QNX also PROVIDED a version of the (X) Windows System to the general public.
