Apple: Android's framework inspired by creator's time at Apple

03 September, 2011
Allegedly, Andy Rubin got the idea for Android's framework while he was working at Apple on a related patent.

    People people people...

I totally dont understand what you nall are talking here? The thing is, that iOS CAN NEVER really win. Why? Because they dont care for low end. Android for example supparts all devices from low-high end phones. So even if iOS might be able to rule in High End products, it will never overthrow Android, if they dont make sure, that Android cannot be put in low end devices anymore. People have to understand, that majority dont have money for iPhone and a lot of people dont even want a smartphone. Dont say that iOS is losing, just saying, that with the way they are right now, they have not a slight chance of "winning", they can only protect their territory, so to say ;)

apple (the loser) is crying and hardly tries to fight against anything in courts. hey apple, you can't stop technology. go and make better products to prevent decrease of your market share. Once you were winner but now ... hahaha

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2011Apple hates progress. They are suing Android because it's be... morei think u are right Then why didn't companies adopt android 5 years ago ? because every company want to rip our money but u never get that fact and only under impression that apple is the only company ripping off the money.Answer is companies know that people like u buy anything that has 3.5 or 4 inch touch screen and android inside it. rough translation is people like touch screen experience especially multi-touch.

if i am correct , android adopted multi-touch technology support in their OS like 6 months after iphone was unveiled and apple got multi-touch patent granted and they got ownership for it like 4 months ago.

i really bet if u really read any news before or just typing whatever others wrote. apple never sue android.
                      apple sue HTC , motorola.

because HTC or motorola are getting profit from technologies/patents apple has created , and HTC is not paying license , simple answer is HTC is pirating apple's patents.no-one can sue google because google gives android to OEMs for free , google gets no profit from android apart from marketplace when u buy apps or through ads in free-android apps.
so no-one can sue google as it is not getting profit apart from java patents or in-app purchase patents.

java is also same , java is open source but there is no right given to u to modify java and sell it everyone for a price.

and even google's current executive officer is former apple board member , he involed in apple decisions until 2009 .Steve jobs is also important member in google's board until 2008.whoever is owner of google's android team worked at apple several years almost all of them.Tim Cook , current apple CEO worked at Compaq long back for many years.

one thing is true , until now i thought only apple fanboys exist , but after seeing comments like this , i am also seeing fanboys for android as well , perhaps 2 words open source or flash are only things u know.
u know nothing about people who work there or u know nothing about android , u just buy anything which has android in it and blame even the android creators for releasing true statements.
                      pity on u .

i am a fan of apple , samsung and microsoft but i never behave like fanboy , i use galaxy s2 and an old ipod touch.

The software needs to be able to handle sd-cards and USB-on-the-go and hdmi and mhl-hdmi and..., and Android can easily handle these things, iOS can not!

Apple just too greedy, wants to be no 1. But does apple ever think about Nokia who has ever been the first popular phone? So, it's revenge time of the other. Curse you

AnonD-9023, 03 Sep 2011i use galaxy s2 and my bro uses iphone 4 , To be honest ... moreAndroid is based on Linux, and there is not many, if any, viruses on Linux/Android, and you only have to pay once, 1 time, when you buy an antivirus on Android Market, Android/Linux is not Windows!
With any low-cost 800 MHz or faster processor you get the full complete Android-experience, you do not need Galaxy S2!
Samsung-Androids do not really need Kies to connect to any computer, so it is no real problem that Kies sucks, because you do not really need it at all!

i believe after Apple "destroys" Android, they will turn their eyes to MS and sue them for making OS (Windows Phone 7) that has same lack of functions as in original iOS (no BT transfer, no copy, no memory slot, no customization allowed), because let's be fair - WP is almost exact copy of previous version of iOS. Actually i wonder why Apple have not brought "to justice" MS yet? ;-)

Very good comment, it looks like android fans thinks that android is one manufacter, even if android gains market share fastest, still iPhone gaining market share fastest if we talk about different phone brands. So definately iPhone isn't losing! Or doing bad.

Apple are winning too, have you seen the profits that their iOS devices bring them? Hardly losing is it?

Criticise them as much as you like - but they've grown to be the number one company in the world. Thanks a lot to iOS and iOS devices.

i use galaxy s2 and my bro uses iphone 4 ,

To be honest , i like both devices equally because , i used to think itunes is a big mess but after using samsung kies for a while i felt OMG , iTunes is the best
in many ways , even backup is a mess in android.

but something i like about galaxy is its hardware , like micro-SD , removable battery (i credit samsung but not android because android is a software , samsung is hardware provider) .

and i am very unhappy about safety too , i really don't know how much safety i need from android , in iOS apple locks apps and thats why apps can't access everything from ur phone apart from little bit location data and device information (what device u use and which model , which version of software its running) apart from that iOS apps don't filter critical data , and in android = anti-virus each year costs $30 because free-virus apps are blah blah.
i can buy 30 apps for that price for iOS and anti-viruses slow down phones ( galaxy s2 really fast but i talk about low-end android phones with low memory).

even though i liked the experience from android running device , my satisfaction rate is same as iphone , i really don't feel galaxy s2 is such a great phone interms of battery either.

what i liked is better hardware like SD-card , big screen , removable battery , software side i liked widgets and bluetooth-transfers/better customization.

on downside , safety is so bad because u will never know which app is good and which one is bad because google's marketplace doesn't remove apps until someone reports there is virus inside that app and amazon app store is not good with updates of apps. second downfall is backup , yes u can backup applications but backing up data inside applications is mess , like saved documents inside apps , settings inside apps etc etc.
3rd downfall is multimedia , organizing multimedia is also a mess but thanks to sd-card and bluetooth-transfers .
4th downfall is app experience , most apps related to utilities and customization are free but remaining apps are high cost like $$4-$$7 where as in appastore most apps are 99 cents (most popular apps are maximum $3). and app store is definitely better than google market or amazon because of quality as well as malware protection. Games are best on iOS but customization/Utility apps are really good in android.

my conclusion , only high end android phones like galaxy s2 are good and low-end , mid-end android devices simply fit-for-nothing kind of devices.
if u buy galalxy s2 or nexus phones its really cool but never buy cheap devices. but at the end u spend same money on android and iphone to get a good experience , to be honest resale value of iphones are really high like double money u get from reselling used iphone VS selling used-android phone.
so even u spend little more , resale value can really recover that money and no need to use anti-viruses and pay money again.
