Reddit_user45, 11 May 2018Then what's the point of even bringing it out. No one will ... moreI agree with you, i get so annoyed when friends of mine say AI shouldn't be researched and when i ask them why there response is always "Did you never watch terminator" or "ever heard of Skynet". That is a fictional outcome based on a worst case scenario we can only achieve great things if we try, being afraid of something that may never happen isn't reason enough to hold ourselves back. The Icarus argument can be valid but at this point i don't believe we're anywhere near the sun.

Asking for phone assistant that show stuff like weather or searching results = OK
Asking for phone assistant that can set reminder/send sms = OK
Asking for better voice quality of that assistant so we actually can understand what it say = OH MY GOD SKYNET IS REAL WE ALL DOOMED! TERMINATORS WILL KlLL US ALL!

Then what's the point of even bringing it out. No one will talk to a bot if they know its a bot. People have such useless arguments against technology. Then people say why we aren't living in the future. Its because people themselves are scared of it. For god sake. Let the technology develop first before speaking out against it.
