MG7, 18 May 2018Wait for review, maybe screen and cameras are too bad.I guess so, if this phone will be mainly just about performance and nothing else, it could possibly go in that way.
Either way, I'm still disappointed that Oppo can offer a Helio P60 for a phone this cheap, while Xiaomi can't even give a SnapDragon 636 for a bit more.

AnonD-454049, 18 May 2018Helio P60 is already bad so there's nothing to throttle lol... moreWell I wouldn't say it really.
Helio P60 is a really good chipset from MediaTek, which goes to show that they are now being serious in chipset making. It won't throttle due to a very efficient 12nm FinFET process from TSMC, which is even better than the SnapDragon 625's 14nm fabrication.
Performance is way ahead due to the 4x Cortex A73 high performance cores, which is only a tad short of SnapDragon 660 due to weaker graphics, and as we all know, the 660 is currently the best SnapDragon 6xx chipset available as of now, and it blows the old but gold 625 in pretty much every possible way other than efficiency, in which I find both of them to be equal.

They will cripple the performance to SnapDragon 625 level in order to achieve that super low price tag.
Don't take this as a true statement, I'm just theorizing, 'cause no way a Helio P60 could be offered in a smartphone this cheap. I may agree with SnapDragon 636 or Helio P30, but I can't think of any possible way to offer that superb chipset in a phone of this price segment, without really compromising that much, if any at all. Even the battery and screen are good!

Who knows, maybe Oppo did take this "opportunity" (no pun intended) to become a leader in the super budget segment.
We may just see Xiaomi get beaten at its own game, but I have neutral feeling.
I'm using the Redmi 5 Plus, and the only thing I'm disappointed with is the use of proven and tested, but considerably aging, SnapDragon 625 processor.
They could've given us maybe the 630, or even the 636 and just keep the better cameras exclusive to the Note 5 Pro, which is just a few dollars cheaper.
And I certainly have no hope for Android Oreo for my phone. I'm really disappointed this year, and I'm afraid to regret choosing Xiaomi over Huawei or Oppo as my current daily driver that I have to keep for the next 2 years.

                I am afraid there'll be a catch
a company which has overcharging as it's mid name...

This phone will never get major update android version, just like another oppo model

Sun Sand, 18 May 2018This Oppo company is stuck up in the past as it still uses ... moreThey are the worst of the three companies made by BKK. (Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus are subsidiary companies of BKK of China)
Even that name! They are copying everything, not only Apple's, but also its competitors like Xiaomi's Redmi!

Sadly Mi cannot use MediaTek Chipset in india .It is the time for local brands like micromax to use Helio P60 or disappear from the marker . Last year only Canvas infinity only sold decently other phones from Micromax are flop.

This Oppo company is stuck up in the past as it still uses "Micro USB" across its range! Big thumbs down for not being supportive of amazing new tech like the "USB C". Oppo management sulk big time!

Lol, its in another league to the old Snapdragon 625 or 630. Stupid comparison.

This is as good as the Snapdragon 660 apart from slight inferiority in graphics and better than the Snapdragon 636 used in the Note 5 in both graphics and CPU. Moreover, the SOC is said to run very cool under sustained load, with a very efficient 2 MHZ clocks for the A73 cores at 12nm. Doesnt heat up at all.

This phone is a steal in terms of price performance ratio. You will not get a better performing phone for the same price anywhere.

James Whister, 18 May 2018Realme 1 or honor 9 lite? What would you suggest? At under 10k?Definitely not Honor 9lite. It's way too weak in terms of performance. I wld buy Redmi Note 5 or Note 4 at 10k cos they r very balanced. Wait for reviews on Realme cos I dunno how good it performs with 3GB RAM or how good it's battery life is.
