The first touchscreen phone was the IBM Simon, launched in 1992. During this decade the popular iPaq (not made by Apple by the way) was launched with touchscreens and optional phone attachments. HTC, the leader in touchscreen phones up until the iPhone and makers of phones like the Nexus One launched their first touchscreen phone, the HTC Wallaby aka XDA in 2002.
In fact...Apple did actually make a concept for a touchscreen phone (not a mobile, a regular landline phone) way back in 1984! An these invention WAS PATENTED by Apple!!!

Basis are the same but those little things make us totally different.
KFC don't suit Churches just because they used chicken, or McDonald to Burger King...they uses different ingredients.
Same can be apply to Phones :P

PlayBook is not by far similar to iPad, just mention ONE single Nokia that look like an iPhone?
This can be a huge difference for Samsung if they start to make different gadgets.
Maybe different colors, the camera and buttons in different positions, the edges slight different, maybe a fingerprint, I don't know but CHANGE!!!
