And i'm pretty sure there were prototype Tablets THAT LOOKED LIKE TABLETS, before Apple decided to design and release the iPad.
First to market does not mean you own the design

I hope Apple rots in hell. The biggest rotten apple on this planet. They can't stand competition so they beat it using illegal ways. It's a freakin rectangle. Might as well patent air and charge people for breathing.

To the last poster.... are you serious my Friend? The consumer wants thin, flat and portable devices. It's no different from our current use of paper for writing, and coming from papyrus and long before heavy stone tablets. How can you copyright square and Thin? What's next, Apple will be changing the shape of paper notepads or forcing poptarts to be manufactured in the shape of sputnik?
It's sad that a company has to resort to such low tactics... and let's not forget that before the ipad became popular, and tablet computers were first brought to market by Microsoft. Perhaps Microsoft should be suing Apple for infringement. A product should win because of it's ingenuity, function and overall usability. not because it's flat and square.... it just makes me think that Apple realizes that their domination is ending, and the tide is turning. it's only a matter of time before android is the number one mobile OS, and they know it.

apple acts like a scaring,crying baby..rectangle ,round edges is one of the best design for tablet...n one more thing ...all laptops are similar to each other...but no company reacts like an fool apple

So let me get this right. Samsung makes the tab which is it's own design. It looks different, works different, has a completely different OS and UI, different hardware, and runs way better. The only similarilty as stated is that it is within rectangular shape and that it slender with rounded edges. Ipad is square! And because of this and despite the fact that Apple submitted tampered evidence making the Tab look 4:3 so it looked like a icrap when the Tab is 16:9 (which apparently is ok to do if its apple) they are still winning just because there have 4 sides, have rounded edges, and are slender. This is why Apple is as big as they are.

Apple, the innovation company....?
Who's said that? Until now, everybody which has used many items or products from Apple surely said that...NOT EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD HAS USED APPLE remember that..............
Has Apple had fews criterias for becoming The Best IT Company? These are the paramenters:
1.Vision and Mission the company for IT's world, Has the company given what market needs and given them a usefull and also helpfull products?.
2.Research and Development Products, Has the company could made lots of products that could helped users in their everyday lives? because needs and wants of peoples always evolving (remember that always developing for quality of hardware and the best developing in softwares!)
3.Benefit and Profit for Users, Has the company created many products in a good price which equals with the good hardware and software technologies in there.
4.Becoming the Trend, Has the company always been a trend in this world from now until future years that every users can remember it because the company has a passion to grow and never cease in improving the technologies.
Maybe Apple has been already having some criterias but not of all......so why Apple has looked frightened of Samsung growth? Please be concentrate for your company. There still have many shortages in your products, Where's Apple that always called "The Innovators?"
I thinks Apple couldn't created many good products for the last few months because now they've been called " The innovators of Infringment Patents? :)

Go for Sammy, keep the good works for developing and inventing many good products, looked @ IFA 2011, Samsung has been created Bada 2.0, Wave 8600, Galaxy Note, Galaxy 7.7, and now the rumors of Quad cores of Win8 tablets...Samsung are busy in developing their technologies so they didn't care about the rumors and gossips that could they worried even stopped to reach their visions and missions. That is true that Samsung still needs more improvements and they will reach that.
Go for Nokia, HTC, LG and Others to have the same spirits.......planning, creating, developing your missions to become a good targets for human's technologies.

As l have commented earlier the next victim of Apple will be Parthenon at Acropolis of Athens.
There are plenty of rounded edges around and all these are infringing on the Apple design from which my ancestors have been inspired and created!!!!

I owned a sequence of tablets in the 2002 to 2006 time frame... the creation of the netbook convinced me having a keyboard, built in cover, and stand was a better product... I switched to 12" netbooks and am very happy. sony's folding tablet is a very promising product as it can fit in pocket's
most of apple suits location have been chosen where racial bias against Koreans is prevalent. There look and feel claims are perfect for the technological backwater that is the legal community. in the meantime, we the consumers, LOOSE big time.

and as for the phones, I admit they do look alike, but just because they made a rectangular phone, or a curved edges phone, that doesnt mean that they copied apple, its not like theyre gonna make a triangular phone, or a cylindrical phone, there arent alot of choices when it comes to comfortable handling for phones.

seriously apple, stop suing samsung for making better tablets and using the excuse that they're copying you, how else should they make a tablet? round? that would be annoying to handle, fat? that would be heavy and hard to use, with buttons under the screen? why should they if the UI is fully touch based?(and you'll still sue them because the ipad has a button under the screen)
I like apple devices, but they are just cowards that are afraid of the competition, samsung isn't copying apple, if anyone can think of another design that is comfortable to use for a tablet then let me know.

Take note of the quoted words for these are things that Apple has no comprehension of, and probably never will. you see even though they insist on putting core i7's and duel core a8 cpus in their devices fact of the matter is they will never have the application support to use them. So asking "Why" any manufacturer of android phones would use a duel core phone is like asking "Why" a construction worker needs a shovel, or "Why" an accountant needs a calculator. Long and short is because the OS can actually use the power these devices offer properly....

Who cares about this ban. You can buy it through Amazon.co.uk and have it delivered to Germany. By the way - it is a great tab - better than the iPad. The screen & Android are its best part :)

Come on! Apple is basically saying that they invented the whole concept of the tablet and nobody is allowed to make the same design?! LOL! As far as I'm concerned, the first tablet I ever owned was the HP Compaq TC1000 (which I later upgraded to the TC1100), way back in 2003-04?
Look at it and tell me that Apple was the first to make tablets. The TC1100 had a detachable keyboard, Wi-fi, bluetooth and a provision for an SD memory card. Sadly my TC1100 was stolen from me in 2005. I really loved that tablet, even with the wonky Windows XP tablet OS that came with it.
