            MG7, 24 May 2018sd 835 single core geekbench is ~ kirin 960 but multicore i... moreNot true. You compare scores of Kirin 960 for older versions of geekbench and antutu, to score of SD660 with newer versions of geekbench and antutu.
            Newer versions provide much higher results for the same SoCs tested.

            Test with same version.
            Geekbench kirin 960 ~ single and multicore about the same as SD835. SD660 ~ SD820.
            With latest antutu, kirin 960 also has higher score than SD660.

                    If 600 this year focuses to ai
                    And 700 series focuses in ar and ai
                    So 800 series in what ? To much marketing. Try to talk less affords more snapyy. Why you so lame kick by apple, samsung and now whit huawei...please do not do drama to much....make a better cpu for daily usage and gaming.

                          Companies should really try to get naming conventions better.

                          AI and Image processing seems like additions, that are better done by adding letters to tell about their extended functionality. That way it could be sold as a feature, no matter what series the chips belong to.

                          And really, all series should match in terms of the numbers, when they are at the same generation.
                          It is all a mess now.
                          If it was 860, 760, 660... it would be easy to assume that the first number indicates that is belongs to a higher end series and thus there should be a substantial difference in performance. 660 sounds like it is a much later generation compared to 845 and 710, thus meaning that perhaps it has caught up some in performance, despite belonging to a lower end series.

                                Also none o/t current device do actual machine learning. It's all algorithmic based logic. Everything is based on build in and strict defined parameters. While true AI creates new parameters by itself.

                                Not that I complain. Sure, phones have more scene-detection modes and chooses better/faster between them and they have better (artificial) noise reduction. So if the images improve then why do we complain, right?

                                It's essentially the same as Tesla calling it's Driver-assist "Auto Pilot". It's not a true auto-pilot (yet) but it does help.

                                      "The Mate 9 only maintains peak performance for about 1 minute (34fps) before reducing GPU frequency, dropping frame rate to 21fps after 8 minutes, a 38% reduction relative to the peak value. It reaches equilibrium after about 30 minutes, with frame rate hovering around 19fps"

                                      From 34fps to 19fps. That's almost 50% throttling (after 30 minutes).
                                      Doesn't matter though if you don't play for hours heavy games..
