I think i will buy the 6gb 128gb version of the standard mi8. Cant sacrifice extra 400mah for the explorer edition..

    Its OKAY to pay under 200 to 300 e for XIAOMI. Doesn't matter the spec. Its just value that matters.

    Its NOT OKAY to pay over 500 e for XIAOMI. Doesn't matter the spec. For that money you buy Iphone 7 plus, Huawei Mate 10, Iphone 8, Samsung s8 plus, Honor 10 etc which are far better phones for that amount of money.

    My country (Bosnia and Herzegovina) is very poor and people buy Chinese phones such as Umi, Oppo, Xiaomi, Doogee, Zoppo etc and when they come to my mobile shop (service center) to change some broken parts I must tell them that there is no parts available and there is always argue because they paid over 200 e for phone and no spare parts.

      In fact Xiaomi Is over priced in your country.
      In your country Huawei's service centers are active.
      In your country P10's 550+ price tag equals to Mi A1's 200.
      In your country People may choose weaker SoC + Less amount of RAM/Storage for the Globally same the price of Mate 10 and Mi Mix 2S.

      So, Problem is not China, it is in your own country.

      Do not compare two distinct model side by side (P10 Plus + Mate 10 vs. Mi A1)
      If camera is in high importance to you, then there is my offer to you.

        Service center, and repair parts always on stock. But for Xiaomi I wouldn't think so. And K970 probably the fastest chip on market. I had Mi A1 and feels like you are holding cheap plastic in your hand (which exactly is). And it cant compare in camera aspect in any way with Leica support for example P10 Plus or Mate 10, which are equally price as Xiaomi.

          SD845 is way more powerful than K970.
          For gaming even SD845 is more powerful than E9810.

          Overall performance
          SD845 is currently the most powerful ARM based chipset out there.
          In FHD+ display almost 90% of available graphic intensive and power hungry apps perform better in SD845 equipped Androids than A11 Bionic equipped iPhone X.

My friend bought Mi Mix 2 and try to resale it but nobody would even look at it for that amount of money just because its Chinese brand.                     The Scientist Pigeon, 01 Jun 2018There are Two Aspects of such trends which became popular s... morethanks for mighty long and boring at the beginning comment! but IMHO it's a solid phone and i don't understand why people are obsessing about the notch and chin and so on... for one it makes a good place for signal and battery as well as some other useful information! my only grime is about the battery capacity and life span! 3000mah which falsely u indicated 3400 is a bit too small for 6.2" screen armed with SD 845! other than that i believe MI8 is heading the right direction!

                      This phone is trying hard in a budget phone sector, but it looks like a blunt copy of iph X,eww….. that fugly not*h, I think it will be better if they give you SD card slot option(128GB may not be enough for some power users), IP68, stereo speakers and most important of all headphone jack! (fast) wireless charging will be a plus also! 3000 mAH might be a bit weak for SD 845? I am afraid its battery life will be shorter than it should be!but what can I say for the money they ask? I would say it would be a good rival to OP 6!
                      P.S- for those who still think Bluetooth headphones are future, really need to get out of their caves as they are in dire need of an urgent reality check(FFS)!

                          i wonder why they reduced the battery capacity on the explorer edition.. cmon man! 3000 mah is not enough. 3400 was perfect

                                      sorry Xiaomi, iam now not very exciting with ur new handset. Almost 80% consumer hate notch, almost 70% consumer want 3.5mm jack but still they put their ugly notch (uglier than oneplus notch or vivo notch). seem like consumer voice are not worthy to listen to... i hope they fail this time.
