Jozo, 31 May 2018You are right on half the price. IMHO very wrong on the rest. More capable: Just unlock the bootloader, root, and a whole new world unfolds in front of you. Also the plethora of advanced GPS and other apps for example in Android, with 2 SIM cards being the pinaccle. I cant help but laughing at my colleagues that have to charge and carry two iphones in order to have their work and private numbers available all the times.
Future-proof: Yeap. My old Xperia M2 Dual (again 2-sim so I have a total of 4 numbers when I travel around) recently flashed with Lineage OS (see bootloader unlocking above) has received a new life. Almost fast enough to compete with today's mid-rangers, instead of a slow old iphone that is not updated any more.
Nevertheless, I cannot ignore Apple's innovation both in hardware and design, plus the build quality and the tremendous after-sales support. Being a hard Android and Windoze :) fan, I must admit Apple's supermacy in these, plus that ALMOST everyone else is following their trends.

    For hiding it's own flagship under other Brand's design, Xiaomi must me ashamed of it's own brand image

      No IP68 dust/water resistant or Splash Resistant like the Mi6 .... No Stereo Speakers like the Mi6 .... How can this be justified as a Flagship phone when some of the essential latest features are missing ....

              Apparently this Mi 8 variants will be available only in certain regions! By the time it becomes available it will be too late for some pro-sumers! Nice specs, they have reasonable support, I know they don't ditch their software, excellent look, if it is priced appropriately, they will sell like hot cakes! But they can't afford to delay because next wave of iphones, note 9 etc going to take sheen away from Xiomi

                    who's that girl?

                      This time xiaomi put the right track for their flagship this year. The beast with great hardware and software makes a great product as flagship killer for the other big brands like apple and samsung. Mi 8, mi 8 SE and mi 8 Explorer are the best trio of mi 8, of course with a good affordable price. Hope this trio will available soon worldwide.. Good job xiaomi..

                                  True tone display - the Mi 8 has 600 nits brightness. Choose one
                                  AI Ringtone - never thought in my entire life that I would ever need an AI for a damn ringtone LOL
                                  AI Boost - in performance? Apparently the MIUI 10 is all about AI-related tasks, which also includes AI boost, but the Mi 8 is already more powerful to begin with (at least with the 300K AnTuTu benchmark score)
                                  Color sensor cam - nice if it actually makes a difference and does its job accordingly. Some phones can already take accurate white balance in pictures without this thing
                                  DTS X - if I'm not mistaken, the Mi 8 also has it
                                  SD Card slot - yeah, quite disappointed not to have it on the Mi 8
                                  More original design - this thing can also be a preference, because there are some copied designs that actually look better than original and unique designs

                                        Third, you can't blame me for demanding especially if that's something I'd need. Everyone nowadays pretty much have their own respective demands on something.

                                        Fourth, how can an opinion be possibly wrong when it's basically an opinion? Do you even know what are you trying to say? An opinion can only be agreed or disagreed with, not considered a fact or lie.

                                        Fifth, I know myself that not all symmetrical looks are good, and not all needs to be symmetrical to look good, but in some cases like in mine, IT IS necessarry.

                                        Sixth, you tried to compare an apple to an orange by using physical keyboard to a notch. The physical keyboard isn't a major thing for smartphones today, and even if it is, take a look at the ones that had it and tell me that they are beautiful. I'll give you an example; the BlackBerry KeyOne.
                                        Obviously you just can't imagine my point, and maybe illustrating it to you may help, but I ain't got time explaining my point to someone that actually knows only how to debunk but not understand others' argument.

                                        Seventh, I don't like the statement of having a bad taste in design just because I actually got a different idea and perspective as you do. Well, in any case, I can also say that you have a bad taste since you probably also have a different one.

                                        Eight, this is called the "comment section" for a reason. It's a place to express people's feelings and opinions freely as long as they comply to the rules and regulations provided by the website creator/s. I think I explained it enough, so you can go search the web to clarify some more questions that you have about this.
                                        I tell you what, why don't you also give your own expression of feelings and opinion as well?

                                        Well, I'm part of the community, and probably unlike you, I actually care for what's happening around me. That's why I tell my opinions and feelings because it makes me feel free, whether people agree or disagree with it.
                                        If you're the type of person who keeps his/her own feelings, then you have the right to do it, but that doesn't mean that others should do what you also are doing.
                                        And do you know what's with an opinion? It's that it can be different from the others.
