The results are spectacular considering Rim's pricing and outdated tech.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2011RIM needs to find a quick solution. Customer refuse to buy ... moreDont agree. Apps do not make a sales success by themselves. Note the margins and compare to Samsung. RIM, like Apple has good margins, unlike Samsung that is spending like hell to buy business on little margins.

Even business users have woken up to the fact that their correspondences are not secure like they thought. Deals with government agencies are agreed before any are sold. The whole saga in M.E. region and India only brought out the truth.

So, firms like mine are just as happy to buy more versatile and less expensive handsets with Android. Why should we pay the premium for a service that doesn't exist.

Blackberry....you lied to us; now you will pay the price!

Ashura, 16 Sep 2011No they do not.Not every company needs to join the Android ... moreYeah, at this rate of loss, they'll soon be filing for bankruptcy! They need to make a phone that doesn't look just like every other phone they ever produced!

Well, according to what I said in a few years ago, RIM should by now go backrupt. They produce only shitty phones compare to iPhone and others. Doesn't look like business phones. Hope to see they go bankrupt in a few years again.

                    Cheer!

it's bad news for RIM and It should be do some changes.if possible RIM should open for internet free connect as other phones. all people around the wold want to use internet by phone but blackberry always charges for internet connect. So we decided to use other phone is more cheaper then blackberry but free for internet connection.example in my country, Cambodia, other phone like sonyirisson, i phone ,HTC and so on; only send some MSS to company for register for connect internet is free and can use internet then but for blackberry it charge for register. blackberry is have to pay for monthly 12$/month and more extra-charge when we using so we change our mind to buy other phone, instead.
by the way, i thought RIM company wants to sale these phone for the rich people only. You don't know the rich people is less and the poor is the most. i hope RIM will do some change to stand up for next phone.

it wouldn't be very surprising if they're next on the list of closing companies. they haven't done a really good job these past few years since iOS and Androids overtook the entire smartphone market..

In a lonmg run, it gives you the ability to work with any platform you desire since you can always create your own apps. :)

ppl buy ipad n other tablets cus they love playing the apps on bigger screen. but playbook (expected to be fun n playable due to its name) got only a few apps thats worth playable. im also a playbook user. i bought it cus ive been using curve and changed to bold and its kinda dissapointing to me to see my friends enjoy their other tablets while im stuck at the same apps everyday. Android and iOS got hundreds of new apps launched everyday but hardly to see any apps on bbOS. and if so, i need to pay for the apps that wont promise me such fun as the other os's tablets. shud change playbook's name to workbook

RIM has a loyal following, and will likely plateau at a certain level after a while. Probably won't die as quickly as people suggest.

However, they do need to buck up, and do something radical to push themselves back into the fight.
