Like I said. the result from the lawsuits will be that both iPhone and Samsung fans will be happy, since the designs will be different enough after this, as the companies will both want to avoid lawsuits. This leads to further divrsity in the market, and we all win! I look forward to both iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3.

Apple is at fault making false statements, it has never come up with anything original, borrows heavily from other manufacturers, its only selling point being the brand value that it has created in the market....its all style and no substance.

Apple actually did something very smart. The lawsuits were not really for the iPhone 4, they were more to highlight Samsung's copying ways, as most people did not pay attention to it. They did this in time, before the iPhone 5 launch. Now, it would be more difficult for Samsung to 'suddenly' also change their next Galaxy to whatever iPhone 5 looks like, and argue 'oh but the design just makes common sense'.
Samsung fans obviously support them, but after this lawsuit, even they would not tolerate such a move from Samsung, forcing Samsung to be more original for the next generation of Galaxy S3 and beyond.
In any case, this benefits both fans of Apple and Samsung, so the consumers win.

well, apple should have thought about all these before starting those ugly patent wars.
it was just unable to challenge samsung + android combo and hence took out its frustrations through these patent wars - now is its time to reap the after effects.
just makes one wonder - would have it been better if apple had focussed its efforts on improving its phone at a proper price - instead of all those patent gimmicks !
good luck samsung - kick out those dirty apples of eve !

Apple wants to be independent platform .
if flash is there on iPhone , everytime developers needs to get tools from Adobe .
Apple wants everything on their product certified as "apple" .
apple has an amazing iLife application Suite for mac but they won't make a windows version. but microsoft made office 2010 and Autodesk made CAD software for mac. Apple write apps only for macs apart from safari and iTunes .
even same for macbook air , most people said removing Optical drive causes bad sales but macbook air was great hit because most people use macstore since DVD drive removed and pirated mac apps are rare compared to windows cracked apps .
Apple wants to make an independent platform .
if u bring a new computer , u can't play directly flash u need to install flash player and then view web if u use HTML 5 then no need to install any 3rd party software. u can make great games using HTML 5 web apps but whole point is they don't want to depend on other companies for software as far as possible .
only thing apple uses are google maps and yahoo finance/weather apps .
if they make independent platform they can get maximum profit because "apple" makes everything and sue anyone without having problems . if u look today apple sue samsung and moving towards another company to get A6 Chips . if apple makes everything of their own then they can earn maximum profit and be ahead to sue or get whatever authority they want on their products.

I just hope that Samsung suddenly doesnt come up with a design that is suddenly with an aluminium back etc, casting doubt on their originality. They have great hardware, and should strive to be original in their design. This way, hopefully the lawsuits stop, and everyone gets to enjoy tech again. I myself am tired of all the shenanigans, and just want to enjoy new tech, both from Apple and Samsung.

anyway it's not about how it looks that i loved my sgsII..

Apple is just a loser. Suing other companies left right and center. its there thing. However in samsung they have bitten more than they can chew. Samsung isnt some small silicon valley start up. Just take Galaxy S II ofr example. it can eat up iphone 4 hands down. Even the basic Galaxy S can give iphone 4 a run on its money.
